"My business is built on integrity, expert knowledge and unsurpassed service. We’ll work hard to earn your trust and respect because, in the end, the only opinion that matters is yours." –Brian O’Connor Brian O’Connor, the founder and president of Wolverine Cabinet Company, got his start in the cabinet and custom furniture business when he designed and hand-built cabinets for his own home. That was 1983… Over the next 23 years Brian’s cabinet and furniture-building skills continued to improve, along with his reputation as a master craftsman as he hand-built custom cabinets for some of the finest homes in Northern Michigan. There is no one in Northern Michigan as knowledgeable about kitchen design, cabinet construction and installation. In 2010 Brian formed a partnership with a small, Amish-run cabinet factory in Southern Indiana. The family-run facility builds Wolverine's cabinets to Brian's exacting specifications. He believes the quality of the cabinetry, individual attention and education he gives his clients, along with great customer service are behind Wolverine Cabinet Company's success. "Together we designed the Wolverine Brand of cabinets that I am proud to put my company’s name on." We have two convenient locations - 311 E. Mitchell Street Petoskey, MI 49770 12909 S. Straits Hwy Wolverine, MI 49799

"I strongly recommend avoiding this business. My experience was dishonest and frustrating. I came in looking for a basic, affordable memory foam mattress, since I’m only in town for two months out of the year. I explained this clearly to Eric, a long-time salesperson who had previously helped a family member. He pointed out a mattress, assured me it was the cheapest memory foam option, and I made the purchase on the spot. When I returned the next day to pick it up, I realized something was off. The mattress they gave me didn’t match what I was shown. After checking the price tag of the mattress Eric wrote up, I saw it was actually an $800 coil mattress—not memory foam at all. Yet I was charged over $1300. When I brought this to their attention, there was no accountability—just deflection. I double-checked the prices of the mattresses in the same row, and it turns out I was sold the most expensive one, despite clearly asking for the most affordable. This felt deceptive, not like a mistake. The entire experience left me feeling taken advantage of. Be very cautious with their pricing practices."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

Cover appliances, clean surfaces regularly, and winterize plumbing before freezing temperatures.

Electric stoves cost an average of $600 to $1,300. Gas stoves can cost as little as $300 but are usually around $1,000. The price depends on functionalities, capacity, and technology. Newer models with Wi-Fi connection or remote app control typically cost a lot more. Induction stoves, one of the newest additions to the market, can be an expensive upfront investment. Most of them cost around $1,500, with higher-end models costing over $2,500.

Window AC units don’t use a lot of electricity in comparison to central AC systems. That’s why window air conditioners are more energy efficient for cooling individual rooms or small spaces. The average window AC unit runs on 500 to 1,400 watts of electricity, whereas central AC systems use more than 3,500 watts.

The average microwave sold today can last seven to eight years. With proper maintenance, it's realistic to expect a microwave to last up to 10 years. Some boutique appliance brands boast microwaves that can provide up to 15 years of flawless performance before you have to think about microwave installation costs again.

Taking good care of your TV is a great way to help avoid costly repairs. Some ways to care for your TV include:

  • Cleaning your TV regularly by dust monthly.

  • Use a microfiber cloth and TV screen-cleaning spray to clean the screen.

  • Don’t leave static images on your TV screen, which could cause pixel damage.

  • Check HDMI and other cable connections monthly.

  • Allow plenty of space around the TV for ventilation.

  • Decide on a location not directly in front of a light source, like a window.

  • Always power off your TV when not in use.
