"I can't say enough great things about working this company. If you’re looking for the short version of the review here it is – they were professional, courteous, efficient, and effective in their follow-up and communication. They did great work for a great price and I highly recommend them if you need basement waterproofing work done. If you’re looking for the detailed version of the review see below: We had recently purchased a home and two months in (after the first heavy rains/snowfall of winter) we noticed a heavy leak in our basement as well as water pooling in an old sump pump well (that we had been assured was old and didn't need a sump pump since there was one already installed on the other side of the basement). After calling a few different vendors to come and take a look to diagnose the issue, we finally called HomeSpec after finding them on Angie's List. I initially contacted them after-hours, but was still able to "talk" to someone via their chat feature on their website. Once the individual on the other end of the chat got some basic information from me, I was told someone would contact me first thing the next morning to schedule an appointment. Sure enough, before 8 am the next morning, I received a call back from Ingrid (who also apparently was the one monitoring the chat feature after hours – give that woman a raise!) That's basically the type of service received from the first initial call to the last and final follow-up call from the company. Everyone I spoke to was kind, professional, and expedient in all responses to me. Dan came to the house to do the initial inspection and draw up a proposal for work. He worked with us to identify possible solutions and worked out different financing options so we could choose the one that best fit our situation (also a bonus with working with this company - they offer financing plans through EnerBank USA). Our sump pump was installed separately from the waterproofing work because it was something we needed done immediately whereas the outside waterproofing had to wait for certain weather conditions to be met. HomeSpec made sure to expedite the installation of the sump pump for us and the team that handled that installation was great to work with. Ryan Loop and his team (Chris and Cody) did the actual work to waterproof the outside of the house and were also extremely professional, courteous, and thorough. They even stayed till 7 pm on the 2nd day of the job to complete it! All in all, this company does great work and if my basement needs additional work done, they’ll be my first call!"

"They are professional and thorough, but there is really no wiggle room if you would like something differently done. Choices in booklet are pretty basic, not a lot of options (for flooring types, door style, trim) This company is like the Anderson Windows of basements. (No doubt they spend a lot on advertising; There is a reason they are the top result when searching!) Expect to pay quite a bit more than you planned, but I knew if I chose them it would be done and warrantied for everything. Sometimes you just want to sign and not worry, and I would definitely pick Finished basements plus if you are in that situation and have the budget."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."
