"Sweetwater Electric installed my Generac whole house generator. Part way through the installation, we discovered a problem with the landscaping and placement of the generator. Sweetwater was patient while we worked out the issue and resumed work the day after the landscaper left. Alan and Thomas worked well together as a team and finished the installation without a problem. I would highly recommend them for your Generac, or general electrical, work. They are conscientious, hardworking, amenable and clean up after the job is complete. What more could you ask for?"

"I just canâ t say enough about the quality and service we received from Toastyâ s Heating & Cooling in Farmington Hills! We hired them to install a new furnace and A/C and their professionalism, pricing, workmanship and work ethic was truly exceptional. Even the city inspector was impressed! "Mike was able to provide a thorough in home estimate quickly. We agreed on a price for the initial trim carpentry, interior door installation and casing along with numerous areas that required correction from prior substandard workmanship. Mike and his crew arrived early, worked diligently to provide meticulous craftsmanship. A true professional, one who takes pride in his work every step of the way through to completion. It has been my experience, that sort of dedication to home renovation is a rarity of late. He isn’t cheap and he doesn’t cut corners. My advise if you want your job done perfectly the first time, minus the stress and strain, hire MGM!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

No, mulch itself does not necessarily attract termites even though it’s usually made of shredded wood. Some types of mulch like cedar or cypress resist termites because they’re toxic or unappetizing to the wood munchers. However, when the mulch is deep enough, say three inches or more, it creates a perfect habitat for insects of all kinds to build nests.

Bed bugs are most active when we are most inactive, typically from 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. They are cunning, and adjust their schedules according to their victims. If you work at night, for instance, your bed bugs will flip the script.

Some plants that are toxic to animals or insects are also toxic to people. Daffodils, for example, are considered poisonous to humans (although they are rarely fatal). Most of the other plants listed above, however, are safe (and delicious!) for humans to eat, including basil, rosemary, and lemongrass.

Yes, professionals use non-toxic methods and materials to protect both health and the environment.

You can use commercial repellents to help deter rodents, but they often have mixed results. A better solution is preventing rodents from getting under your home in the first place. Using steel wool or foam sealer, plug all potential entry points like gaps and cracks in the foundation.

Also, consider installing hardware cloth or wire mesh over vents, utility openings, and any openings under the porch or foundation. Regular inspections and maintenance will aid in early detection and prevention, ensuring a rodent-free environment beneath your house.
