"Mega Man Drain Cleaning was REALLY great! Needed a camera run in the sewer line to check for possible breaks underneath the basement floor. Shaun the technician was prompt and courteous and even left a video of the pipe line on a thumb drive for us. Thankfully there were no breaks in the line. "I had a clogged kitchen sink drain, nothing I did would fix the problem. Called several places but they didn't work on mobile homes. Called Gold Star and I was in luck. They were able to come the next day. Nathan and Craig came and assessed the problem, explained thoroughly what needed to be done and gave us the estimate that was fair. We had the them do the work, they were pleasant, respectful of my home and upon completion cleaned up. I took several cards to have on hand for anyone in my area that is in need of their services. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future if need.....I'm hoping I won't need."

To keep window wells from filling up with water, you need to stay on top of maintenance. Remove debris as it fills up, and regularly loosen the gravel at the base if it’s become compacted. You can also reslope your yard to make sure water flows away from the window well (and your home’s foundation), and you can even install a window well cover to prevent debris from building up. Installing an actual drainpipe at the base of the well can also prevent window well drainage problems.

You can try several easy methods to unclog a drain, one of the easiest and most effective of which is to use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. This will help dislodge and dissolve the clog to move it down the drain pipes. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda into the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Dump several cups of boiling water (or hot water if you have PVC pipes) into the drain and let sit for up to one hour. Run hot water to clear the drain.

Unlike regular cleanings, snaking your sewer line should be done as needed. There’s no reason to snake your sewer line if you don’t have any noticeable issues, like slow drainage or plugged drains. You can add it to your regular sewer cleaning checklist as a prevention method (on the same 18- to 22-month schedule), but it’s not always necessary. 

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

As a general rule of thumb, it’s best to clean your linear drain every two to three months to prevent debris buildup. However, if you notice it draining slowly or an odor from your drainpipes, it’s best to clear the clogged drain and maintain it more often. If you let a clog go for too long, you may have to invest in the price of professional shower drain cleaning, which costs about $225.
