"My designer Michelle was very talented and drew up 2 very functional closets. My installers were neat, clean and very conscinous. Rico was especially polite and meticulous about his work. Andy, construction coordinator, was always courteous and organized. I love my closets. No complaints! Diane Bedore"

"Overall, we had a very good experience with Rob and Zach.  They were incredibly patient with our very challenging and large kitchen renovation ($65k total cost).  There were many design challenges to overcome for which they always found a creative solution. Rob and Zach run a very honest operation, including things that most contractors won't do, such as utilizing a Lowe's LAR account so that you can see exactly what you are paying for materials.  Payments for labor were done upon completion of work without pressure of deposits, etc.  Their pricing was definitely fair and better than other contractors that we had quote the job.  They were very prompt and very open/patient to our ideas and suggested ways to improve the design and functionality throughout the entire process.  We will definitely use Rob and Zach again in the future!

Closets questions, answered by experts

The vertical space between closet shelves depends on what you're storing. For clothing like shirts and sweaters, 10 to 12 inches is enough. Towels and linens need 12 to 15 inches, while tall storage bins may require 18 inches or more. Overcrowding your shelves can reduce accessibility and increase clutter, so be sure to leave breathing room for your items.

Built-in furniture maximizes space, offers a tailored look, and enhances room functionality.

Tiny house living requires creative solutions to the one biggest issue: space. Many people in tiny houses find life most manageable if they practice minimalism. Eliminating excess items and clutter makes the living space feel bigger, which can be a significant mood booster. It can also be challenging to get utilities arranged for a tiny house, and building and zoning codes can and often do present unique challenges to overcome.

Clean regularly, avoid overloading shelves, and check hardware for wear to ensure longevity.

You can design your own closet, but it’s usually better to hire a professional to do the work for you. Not only will you get years of design experience to guide you toward the right layout and material choices, but you’ll also only pay slightly more hiring a professional than you would creating your own plans and hiring a carpenter. A high-quality closet designer can provide insight into how to lay out your closet, and they may be able to find you a good deal on the carpentry or complete the work using an affordable, in-house team.
