The work is completed by me and not hired out to multiple subcontractors. Cost is determined by the job as every job varies. To help me out in giving you a more exact price if you know the various materials you want to use, such as a specific tile or specific faucet it will greatly help with a more accurate cost. Please feel free to text or call me but also please email me your contact information and what you would like done. Your email should include location, phone and email address since those sent from Angie's list will not show your email address. Please also note I am a small company no big sales force, no multiple secretaries and do this all on my own, literally. So when I do the work for you there will not be multiple people coming and going from your house wondering who is who coming into your house. "I started around September and this was a large job. The cabinet supplier did order the wrong cabinets. I fought with them quite extensively over this. They did not charge him for some of the larger pantry-sized cabinets. He had a choice to accept them as they were, he was making out not being charged for the higher priced ones, or get the correct ones but when they re-did the order those missing in the first bill would be added in costing him more. He chose to keep the ones they sent but wanted different doors. I paid for those doors out of my pocket. The cabinet layout was drawn on the walls so the homeowners could see exactly where they would go into the room and what the layout would look like. It took roughly 6 weeks for the custom cabinets to arrive and while they were being installed they asked if they could add more cabinets. I told them they could but it would take an additional 8 weeks. We waited and they were not in a hurry since they were not living in the house. In October I repeatedly asked for a backsplash tile selection. By February I was still asking for their choice. In March when there was no hope for choices being made I made the decision to leave the job. The only work not completed was the tile for the backsplash. His other claims are completely fraudulent as well. I only ever do one job at a time and nothing was glued on the job. The only appliances to be saved would be the stove and refrigerator. The dishwasher I donated to someone in need as it was not on the list to be saved. Therefore it wasn’t stolen. When he claimed he wanted it I asked the people who it was donated to to give it back and they did. As for money, no extra payments were requested. None of these complaints were made while I was there about paint or nail holes nor the floor. This job was also done two years ago and now he’s decided to write a review. He found me on Angieslist so if he was so “upset” why didn’t he write a review until two years later?"
I'm a little late with this review, but better late than never.
Steve is a great guy. He did the entire job himself which was about 250-300 sq ft. He finished the job in less than a week. No complaints at all and I would highly recommend. Will definitely keep him in mind for additional work if needed.
Steve, the owner, dealt directly with us from beginning till the end. He did most of the work and oversaw the rest. He made certain everything was as we requested.
Having dealt with contractors in the past, I was surprised and extremely pleased that this was one who did what he promised, when he said he would do it and for the price he quoted.
The complete demolition of an old bathroom with two layers of ceramic tile was backbreaking work, but it was done thoroughly and professionally.
When it came to selecting new tile and granite, Steve was very helpful in suggesting where we could find exactly what we were looking for. We ended up doing floor to ceiling in porcelain tile with granite counter tops and it looks sensational.
Steve worked tirelessly to see that all the components were installed properly and functioning as expected.
He promised the job would be done in three weeks from our starting date and he actually beat that by a couple of days. In an era when most contractors drag jobs on for months, the promptness of Superior Construction was refreshing and much appreciated.
We are thrilled with our new bathroom and are pleased that we chose Superior Construction to do the job.
Steve was Amazing. One project turned into many.... He definitely knows what he's doing in all aspects of home remodeling and construction. He was very personable and timely in responding to your phone calls, text messages, and emails. If you have an idea, and he provides you with his - go with his - He knows what he's doing! His quality of work is incredible. He picked materials and completed the work as if he was doing it in his own home. He's definitely on the back burner for future projects or repairs and we've definitely gained a friend.
We contacted him to install a tile backsplash in the kitchen. He gave us an estimate (way more reasonable that the other three we sought out). He also provided us with different material ideas - in which we accepted and fell in love with. We took back the tile we bought at Home Depot and purchased stone (a little more expensive) but definitely worth it, from the Tile Shop. Because we were so impressed with his work, we asked him to quote us on a bonus room project.
He measured the space and I gave him my input on what I wanted - A built in bed frame with shelving or storage on the sides because the space was very tight. He designed something with doors and huge storage cubby underneath, and shelves in the slants of the ceiling (see the picture). Its perfect for that space above the garage and it serves as our guest room/game room.
He has the top of the line tools which makes his life easier, but also mine because I know he cares about his work. I've never met Steve before until Angies List.... I am really glad that I came across his listing!
The back splash that Steve said he sealed was never sealed, now it has to be cleaned and sealed. The grout between the back splash and the counter tops has disintegrated. It needs to be replaced with a the proper grout, we have asked several contractors and now know what type of grout to use to replace the grout.
Some of the floor tiles make popping sounds when you walk on them. After inquiring about this problem, many floor installers and sellers have told us that we should expect them to crack sooner than later.
I would not recommend Steve to my worst enemy. I did have my friend use him and he did an awful job in her kitchen. She hired someone else to fix his work. STAY AWAY FROM STEVE AND HIS COMPANY!!! All you are doing is paying for trouble in the long run.
"I have never received a call from you about any issues whatsoever and would have been very happy to come and correct any issue that may have occurred had you caled me. Instead you write this diatribe out of nowhere. Your backsplash was sealed and the seal does not last forever as it does not for granite and that needs to periodically be done again. Grout is a cement based product and will over time crack and shrink just like a driveway or anything else made of cement. If you would have opted for a non cement based grout that's more money then that usually does not happen. Had you called me I would have been happy to fix anything even a year and a half later. Your floor tiles were attached to cement board which is a proper method of installing the tiles. When kitchens are remodeled they are done specifically for each kitchen. Your friend had recycled your old cabinets trying to fit them into her kitchen and were not meant for that space not were they new. The cabinets were in torn condition and did not fit for her space and were in torn condition. However she was quite happy with the job as you were as well even though you said she complained about everything. Again I'm sorry this happens a year and half later but had you called me I would have gladly helped you out."
