"They were super communicative and willing to work with us as we are out-of-town owners. Jesse was very knowledgeable about are various trees and their points in the life cycle. He listened carefully to what we wanted right now as well as our future plans and made suggestions to help with that plan. When it was time for the job, we always received a notification from Danielle letting us know when Jesse was on his way or if there was any delay, etc. As I said, spectacular communication! Since we were out-of-town, Jesse sent plenty of before and after photos and even offered a video walk around, but I could see that he did exactly what we had discussed and even got a little more that we thought we'd be able to get on the Lakeshore side. I can not say enough good things about our experience with Roman Empire Tree. We will definitely be using them for all future work on our property and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for land clearing or even basic tree removal service!"

"Service was prompt and professional, our tree looks great now. Very impressed with the clean-up effort, when they left you couldn't even tell they had been there - no debris left in the yard at all.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The cost of professional tree service, such as trimming, is $460 on average, but the price can range from $75 to $1,800. A more typical range is between $200 and $760. The final price depends on several factors, including the size and type of the tree. For example, trimming Crepe Myrtle trees costs an average of $80 to $400, while giant pine trees can range from $200 to $1,800. Other factors that influence the cost include the time of year, as services are often more expensive in the spring. Your location can also play a role; costs may be higher if you live in a remote area or if the tree is difficult to access. However, some professionals may offer a discount if you have multiple trees that need service.

Most plum trees are pruned into a vase or open wine glass shape. They’ll have a shorter central leader (the trunk) that supports three to four main branches. Of course, this isn't always the case. If you have a European plum tree, you can grow it in a pyramid shape. Let the central leader extend the length of the tree and prune smaller branches to create the pyramid.

An arborist specializes in tree care, performing tasks such as pruning, treating diseases, and removing hazardous trees. They also assess soil conditions, plant trees, and develop landscaping plans to ensure healthy growth. They also manage debris cleanup, inspect equipment, and record maintenance activities. Arborists often collaborate with landscapers and professional tree maintenance services, applying their specialized knowledge and problem-solving skills to maintain tree health and safety.

It's easy to misidentify trees that appear to be maple trees due to similarities in leaf shapes. Sweetgum, sycamore, and yellow poplar all have leaf shapes and appearances similar to maples. The fact that around a dozen maple tree varieties exist, only about half of which are considered common, makes misidentification an often typical occurrence.

There are a few differences between tree guying and tree staking. Tree guying requires anchor stakes that are shorter and stronger than regular stakes and are driven deeper into the ground at an angle away from the tree. Tree staking uses longer stakes that are set parallel to the tree and are used for smaller trees. Consult a local tree professional to determine which method is best for your tree.
