"I hired Justin-Highline Crane for a big tree removal and trimming project. Even with their busy schedules during the clean up after the ice storm in Gaylord MI, they scheduled our project very quickly. The crew was wonderful, hard working and impressive climbing skills. "This team really went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations". They were the best crew to work with. I will definitely use them again. I have already recommended them to a family friend, and will contiune to recommend their service. Thank you for the great job, guys!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.

No, you cannot throw branches from your neighbor’s tree back into their yard, nor can you discard leaves or other plant matter that originated from their yard back over there if it happens to land in your yard. You are responsible for cleaning up plant matter that made its way into your yard.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid flush cuts, which are cuts made as extremely close to the trunk or main branch. These cuts can weaken your tree, lower its natural defense mechanisms, and even cause decay. You’ll also want to avoid tree topping, which is the total removal of the leader and upper main branches of a tree.

Most pros will advise against either of these methods, which is why hiring a pro is often the best choice when it comes to tree trimming.

Yes, many services include stump grinding to eliminate tripping hazards and improve aesthetics.

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.
