"We were told our custom 1970s stone fireplace with a hole in the fire box was a tear out by companies who sell fireplaces and fireboxes, and this is a $20k -no exaggerating $20k- fix if we wanted to replace the enormous fire place in our home. We had some buyers remorse for this home at that point because no service was available for a tear out either unless they also did the rebuild work so removing it wasn't an option. We have been stuck for years without use the of a large fixure.
