"They are professional and thorough, but there is really no wiggle room if you would like something differently done. Choices in booklet are pretty basic, not a lot of options (for flooring types, door style, trim) This company is like the Anderson Windows of basements. (No doubt they spend a lot on advertising; There is a reason they are the top result when searching!) Expect to pay quite a bit more than you planned, but I knew if I chose them it would be done and warrantied for everything. Sometimes you just want to sign and not worry, and I would definitely pick Finished basements plus if you are in that situation and have the budget."

"Great experience-start to finish. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company. Russell made sure I understand exactly what was happening with our foundation, exactly what him and his crew were going to do, and how much it would cost. Zero pressure to hire them - just an explanation of what was happening and how it could be fixed. Sometimes construction was delayed, we started much later than I had planned…and it took longer than expected - BUT I would hire them 100x over. There is no other company I would trust with my foundation. Period. His crew worked in the pouring rain, cleaned up at the end of the day - (meaning they swept the street in front of my house) and protected my grass during construction. I would challenge ANYone to come over and guess where they dug. (8ft+trench) The crew even preserved some trinkets for my girls when they dug in their fairy garden♥️. I’m so impressed with this company and though it was the most $$ I’ve spent ever on a home - I’m so so glad we hired them - and I am so grateful that we met him. Btw - he was there often to inspect the work and explain where they were in the process, what they had done, and why they’re doing it. I will recommend Precision to any/everyone who needs a service like this. ⭐️ ⭐️ ?⭐️⭐️"

"The man that came to our house was very nice and we felt as though he was not trying to sell us a basement system, but more-so a piece of mind. Also, he explained exactly where everything would be and how it would all work. Thanks, Roger!"

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"I always call Brick Works to do any kind of masonary work. They have poured two patios for me and did a marvelous job. They really know how to level a patio to drain water away from the house. They quickly responded to my request. The work was completed the day after my call. I highly recommend this company."

"This is the second time we’ve used Nick and his crew for flooring. Nick was very flexible from the start. My wife and I both work full time and we have young school aged kids so meeting with a contractor during regular business hours was nearly impossible to accomplish. On several occasions before we even officially began the project, Nick came over late after the kids were already in bed to discuss our plans and ideas for what we wanted done and to offer his opinions. We have always been impressed with Nick that he is not pushy or overly “salesy”, we definitely did not feel pressured to start the project until we were ready and convinced it was what we wanted to do. We had about 1,000 sq ft of flooring replaced this time around and it was very nice knowing that Nick and his crew were very conscious about the fact that we have young children and treated our house like their own and made sure there was nothing left that they could have injured themselves on. Heck, they even let our dog out and played with him a little bit each day because he’s not normally in his crate all day. The floors came out beautifully, we are so happy with the finished results. While it was not a cheap project, I believe the labor charged on top of the materials was very fair. I would highly recommend anyone use Nick’s Tile and More because you can truly tell they take pride in their work and care about the customer more than the paycheck."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

In Dearborn, small issues can escalate quickly. Watch for hairline cracks that appear after winter, as they signal water infiltration worsened by Michigan's freeze-thaw cycles. Pooling water near your foundation is another red flag, as it can lead to more significant problems due to the area's poor-draining clay soil. Gaps between concrete slabs and your foundation also indicate serious soil movement.

Helpful?

When planning concrete leveling in Dearborn, consider the area's expansive clay soil, which often requires specific techniques like polyurethane injection. The best time for work is late spring through early fall to avoid ground frost. You must also address local drainage challenges, check for any required City of Dearborn permits, and remember that state law requires you to call MISS DIG before any digging.

Helpful?

As homes in Dearborn age, concrete issues progress. Minor settling occurs in the first decade, but by 25 years, the effects of clay soil expansion become apparent. For homes over 40 years old—common in the area—multiple areas often need attention. At this stage, a comprehensive evaluation is critical, as you may need to switch from simple repairs to full concrete replacement.

Helpful?

Previous concrete leveling in Dearborn may need redoing if you see returning settlement, especially after a harsh winter. Other warning signs include new cracks forming at repair joints or water pooling in previously leveled areas, which indicates the underlying drainage issue was not resolved. A hollow sound when you tap the concrete can also mean the fill material has washed away.

Helpful?

In Dearborn, older homes from the 1940s-60s often have shallow foundations that complicate concrete leveling. The area's expansive clay soil can cause differential settling, making repairs more complex. Additionally, narrow lot configurations, attached garages, and large, mature tree roots can restrict equipment access, posing logistical challenges for your project and requiring careful planning with a professional to ensure a successful outcome.
