"The worst experience ever!!! I would never recommend. They installed a generator a year and a half ago. Power outage in middle of winter. My 94 year mother in law lives with us. No one could come out right away. We have had several power outages since this has been installed. NEVER has it worked. The tech told my husband what size to go with. Now they say it is too small for our house!!!! A manager told my husband just to sell that one. And they can charge us for a bigger size!!! $11,000 is what we paid for that one. dollars later!!! Now today is June 21th 2025 And we have a power outage. and I have asthma very hot day out. So I call again and the lady tells me well we need to do a year check up. And they have to charge us for it. MORE Money for something that NEVER has worked!!! So sounds like I need to get lawyer involved!!!"

If your AC suddenly stops working, the first thing to check is your thermostat settings. Ensure the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature and mode (cooling). The simplest indicator is how long it’s been since your last tune-up. You should schedule an annual AC tune-up each spring. Beyond that, there are multiple signs that your AC needs a quick check by a professional. These issues include higher-than-average energy bills, decreased air flow from vents, higher indoor temperatures, and an air conditioning unit that stays on all the time or frequently turns on and off.

If your home has an existing forced-air heat system, you can add a central air conditioner to it. An HVAC technician can retrofit your forced-air heating system by installing an evaporator coil onto the furnace plenum, the box next to the furnace that draws in air. Once installed, the air conditioning coils use the furnace’s blower to circulate the air.

Air conditioners and dehumidifiers are actually quite similar, though they perform different jobs. Dehumidifiers reduce moisture in the air, while air conditioners work to cool the home. A good central AC unit will naturally perform a certain level of dehumidification due to its design, but it will not be able to handle excessive levels of moisture.
