"☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Amazing! I had a panel upgrade on a house over 100 yrs old, and 4 dedicated circuits installed, as well as having it future proofed for things I may have - solar, an electric vehicle, central air, a generac, and an ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU/aka Tiny House) They were prompt, courteous, and very reasonably priced, as well informative ‐ gave me a pretty accurate quote upfront And always let me know when they would be over, what they were going to do, and how long it should take them. Only took them a handful of visits. When I need electrical services in the future I will definitely be calling them back! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆"

"I hired Derek and his colleague to wire up our new hot tub. He was excellent at communicating and providing an estimate before work was started. The quality of work he provided exceeded my expectations. Everything was done neatly, to code, and did not leave a mess at my house. A sprinkler line was damaged during trenching, since we didn't know it was there, and he made the repairs with no questions asked. I would definitely hire him or recommend for electrical work. A+"

"I called Superior Power and Lighting because I had a power issue with outlets not working in my garage. No tripped breakers in my panel and everything else working in the house that I knew of. I was worried about possible damage from mice and was concerned about electrical hazards if this was the case. I called and spoke to David and asked if he could send a tech to my home even though it was after hours and would be charged for an emergency call . Instead of just saying yes and sending a tech out, David took the time to ask me questions and run through simple items to check that could be causing my problem. To preface the story, I am very hands on and do a lot of my own work around the house and I do not consider myself as a novice when it comes to electrical wiring or other things. David was able to identify the problem for me (turned out to be a tripped GFCI outlet in a bathroom that was wired with my garage outlets....wow....and I was all squared away. It s great to find people like this in business! I will always call them for future electrical needs and I highly recommend giving them a call if you also need electrical work done. **Residence is in New Hudson, MI"

"From our initial communications I was impressed with Charles' interest in my project. He was quick to respond to review the work to be done and follow up during the quoting process. Upon review of my electrical panel service upgrade (100 amp to 200 amp), and other miscellaneous wiring tasks, he explained how he envisioned the layout and advised of the brand of electrical panel that he would quote for the project. He pulled the permit and coordinated with the local electrical inspector and Consumers Energy to schedule the project. During the installation process, Charles was courteous, professional, and pleasure to work with. I am very pleased with all the work done by Homestead! Are you tired of talking to salesmen/contractors that promise something that their employees/subcontractors are not aware to deliver? Are you looking for good value and quality workmanship? Call Homestead Enterprises for your electrical needs."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When planning electrical projects in Brighton, account for local permit requirements and the need to follow Michigan Electrical Code. Homes near water require extra attention to moisture protection and proper grounding due to high water tables. Seasonal weather can limit outdoor work in winter, making summer ideal for exterior upgrades. Consider how electrical improvements may affect your home’s value and insurance, especially in Brighton’s competitive real estate market.

Helpful?

In Brighton, if you experience flickering lights when using appliances, outlets that feel warm, or a persistent burning smell, these are strong signs you need electrical work. Frequent breaker trips or outlets that stop working entirely also indicate electrical issues. If flickering only happens during storms or windy days, it may relate to utility lines. Lakefront homes should watch for moisture around outlets, which can signal hidden electrical risks.

Helpful?

Signs that electrical work may need to be redone in Brighton include outdated wiring types, such as knob-and-tube or aluminum, missing GFCI outlets in kitchens or bathrooms, or panels that lack modern safety features. If you notice outlets sparking, breakers tripping frequently, or electrical panels located in areas prone to flooding, these are red flags. Unpermitted or visibly amateur work should always be professionally evaluated.

Helpful?

In Brighton, using space heaters on the same circuit, running extension cords under rugs, or ignoring routine GFCI outlet testing can all strain your electrical system. Humid summers and winter freeze-thaw cycles near lakes can speed up corrosion, especially outdoors. Protecting exterior outlets with weatherproof covers and scheduling seasonal checks for dock or pool wiring are smart habits for keeping your Brighton home’s electrical system in top shape.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Brighton are increasingly choosing smart home upgrades, such as automated lighting and security systems. EV charging stations and backup generators are in demand due to local weather patterns. Outdoor living spaces see upgrades like deck lighting and weather-resistant outlets. Lakefront properties often add GFCI-protected dock wiring and landscape lighting. Energy-efficient improvements, including LED conversions and whole-home surge protection, are also popular trends in Brighton.
