"My husband and I are very impressed with Metro Electric. Mark, who is a Master electrician, and Nick were professional and knowledgable. They were on-time and wore booties over their shoes which I very much appreciated. They replaced two ceiling lamps, replaced 10 outlets and a dimmer switch among other tasks that neither my husband and I could tackle on our own. They even informed me that our smoke detectors are too old and should be replaced - something I hadn't even thought about. No. Do not use a 14-gauge wire on a 20-amp outlet. A certified licensed electrician would know that the National Electrical Code (as per Section 240.4(D) subsection 3) requires 14-gauge wires to be used with a maximum amplitude of 15.
