"This is a family company that does good work. I had used them two years ago for a backed up sewer line so I used them again this time. I am still pleased with their service."

"They got here listened to my concerns, investigated a few different situations and provided quick and effective solution to the problems. I was especially impressed with their preparedness. I needed a particular part for inside the well pump and they had it on their truck. They had my problem solved in a little more than an hour. I inquired their input on my current equipment as to it's longevity and it's adequacy and they didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. They provided excellent customer service at a reasonable price. I would definitely use them again."

"Came home after work to find no water and my pump clicking on and off. Used the Servicemagic web site to look up contractors in my area. Filled out the project information and while I was reading up on the contractors R & G called and said that they were elsewhere doing emergency calls and should be able to get to me by 9 PM. They showed up shortly after 9 PM, explained to me that the bladder inside the holding tank had ruptured and fortunately for me had the same type on the truck. 45 minutes later everything was working better than it ever had, they cleaned up and took away the old tank. Highly reccomend them."

Small jobs welcome

"I hired them to pump my septic tank after seeing their ad outside of Jarrettsville. Saul came out and gave me a very reasonable price, and got the job done quickly. I am satisfied with their work."

"Livery Pure Services’ recommendation for the excessive water that enters my sump basin was to add-on on a water ejector which did not meet my overall concern as to why excessive water is entering my sump basin system to begin with. There was no investigation as if or where there is a possible underground spring as being the root cause of my concern."

"The technician was thorough and took the time to address my issues. Being on well and septic, it can be tricky making sure the water is safe, not harmful to the pipes, and is right for things like bathing, Atlantic Blue makes sure all of those things are taken care of."

"We would Highly Recommend A & C Plumbing. They did an extraordinary job and really went the extra mile for us. We had to replace our main service line. And they were able to come the day after the estimate to do the work, and get the proper permits, which was great since we didn't have any water. They spent the entire day getting a monster of a job done, in the scorching heat. There was a hand dug trench 3ft deep 6 ft across for the main service line, replaced the ancient galvanized main service line, and a whole new up to code system installed inside. So, they go to tie the house into the city line and there's a leak on the city side too. They called it in to DPW and finish their part, and we had water (we hadn't for over 2 days at that point). A & C gave us the DPW work order number and we all think it's going to get taken care of, right.....ð ¤ For the next 2 weeks DPW says they are investigating and to be patient. Then they tell us it's our fault and the leak is on our side, which we knew wasn't correct, and  contacted A & C. We called DPW, A& C called DPW, we emailed, and A &C emailed. We finally got an inspector to really investigate, then DPW came to fix it, twice, after first visit we had no water. Anthony came to the second DPW service call to talk to the crew, supervisor and inspector, to make sure everything was ok and to see if they had any questions for him, then he went to his other job site. When DPW tied the house back to the water main they had clogged the line (working in an open muddy pit) and told me to call the plumber. I called Anthony (A &C), informed him of everything going on. When he finished the job he was working he came back to the house, he cleared out the traps he just installed we Finally had Water! A & C Plumbing are a small local business that really stuck with us and helped us with a difficult time with the water company. Anthony came back when we really needed him to Personally talk with the DPW work crew, supervisors, and inspectors. Competitive rates, Quality work and a Warranty!"

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to pump a septic tank too frequently. The ideal pumping schedule varies based on the tank's capacity, household size, and water usage. Pumping the septic tank more often than recommended can cause the beneficial bacteria to leach into the drain field, leading to an imbalance and a build-up of solid waste.

Since vinegar is a weak acid with a pH of two to three, it’s generally safe for septic systems. It won’t eat away at the good bacteria in your septic tank and can help break down the sludge, which is its bottom layer. However, like with everything in life, moderation is key.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

The main difference between a mound septic system and a conventional one is that the drain field in a mound system is built up into a mound composed of sand and gravel to increase the filtration time the wastewater sees before it is returned to the aquifer. There’s also a significant cost difference, with mound systems typically costing far more than standard septic systems.

A septic alarm can sound different depending on your system, but often, it’s a loud, repetitive beeping noise or a steady, high-pitched noise. It may also be a loud buzzing noise. To confirm the noise is your septic alarm, check your alarm box for a red light. You can also silence your alarm with a red button or switch on the box. Look for something that says “Test” or “Mute.”
