"The technicians redid the bricks so that you couldn't even tell they were repaired. It looked beautiful. They put in a new liner in the chimney and waterproofed it. They redid the inside of the fireplace to bring it up to code and put in a chain that easily opens and closes the flue. It looks so good and easy that I may decide to use the fireplace again. They redid the pipes in the basement so the fumes from the boiler and hot water heater went up the chimney in the correct way. There had been water damage and they corrected the damage and closed off the hole in the wall (foundation) and made a bigger hole in the correct place so that everything was up to code. They were polite, efficient and worked very hard to get the work done in the promised two days. I have interviewed many companies and found this company to be straight-forward in telling me what they would do and didn't try to tell me they were giving me a "good deal." Rather I feel they gave me an honest estimate on what needed to be done and didn't try to pressure me into using their company. They did give me 10% off because I was an Angie's List customer. What company to use was a hard decision for me because I knew nothing about chimney repair. Because so much of the repair was inside the chimney I couldn't tell what they had done. Based on my experience I feel they did a good job. I don't have a picture of the repaired chimney but it looks great--better than it did before the bricks fell. If someone wants more detail I can copy exactly what they did from the invoice. Also, maybe the company can show a picture of the finished product. Since it is summer time I haven't had any experience using the chimney but will let you know how things work out during the winter."

They took care of cleanliness of the space in front of fireplace during the work, performed detailed inspection and sweep of the chimney, answered all my questions about the functionality of fireplace and chimney, and they provided a reasonable estimate of additional work that could be done. "I received A+ service from Granite Works. I met Bruno Valente, one of the co-owners, on my first visit. He was very friendly and helpful, not pushy like some sales people. The slab I liked the best was marked sold.  In a follow up discussion with Bruno, my brother found out that the sister to that slab was available. Bruno gave it a rating of 11 on a scale of 1 to 10, and he was right.  Bruno held the slab for a few days until I could get there. Purchased it that day, and he held it for 5 months at no charge. Many companies my brother called on my behalf would not hold a slab longer than 30 days.
When my brother was visiting from out of town, they were kind enough to bring it out of storage so that he could see it.  That day, we met Art Rivera who spent considerable time with me us and provided invaluable advice about a new counter I was adding.  He also provided other design suggestions on the backsplash and paint color, which I followed with great results. That was an extra bonus I didn't expect. So, if Art gives you advice, you should definitely take it.
The templater, Glauber (hope this is the correct spelling), was extremely detail oriented and communicated well with my carpenter and his assistant. He made a suggestion for the end cap of the new counter and the handrail behind it that made it a true work of
art.  Gus Valente (co-owner), with assistance from Eduardo (stone cutter), did a great job of deciding what parts of the stone would go where in my kitchen and fireplace.  They have an amazing eye. I was so impressed by their finding parts of the slab in totally different areas that would best connect at the seams. The installers were terrific and that process went very smoothly. I have 2 seams that are barely noticeable.  Their work in the kitchen and my fireplace surround was impeccable.
Granite Works exceeded my expectations, and I'm very picky.  My counters are a work of art.
