II had been wanting to install a chimney liner for some time because the flue was 12" X 12" ,designed for a fireplace and we use a wood stove insert which requires a smaller diameter flue and I hired CCS to install it. I'm very satisfied with both the price and quality of the installation and this will greatly reduce the creosote buildup and increase the safety of my home.
I highly recommend CCS.
When I contacted Chesapeake Chimney Sweeps, they too advised that they were pretty well booked up, but that they would try to get me in their schedule as soon as they could.
I was contacted with a target date later on and was told I'd be advised as to the precise time the day before. True to their word, I was contacted the day before and given an estimated time of arrival which was right on. Mr. Crandall and his assistant were very professional and got right to work, covering the floor with a drop cloth and commenced to pull the stove from the fireplace to clean it and the chimney.
They were very thorough and did a great job cleaning my stove and chimney and re-insulated the stove trim before pushing it back into place.
I will have them return after the heating season to clean the chimney again and have an insulated chimney liner installed which I've been wanting to do for some time.
I found Mr. Crandall to be honest and I was very well satisfied with his work. I highly recommend him, but don't wait until the beginning of the heating season to have your chimney cleaned, do it in the Spring!
