"Everything went well. Ferney did some painting, fixed railings, fixed door handles, re-did a closet, installed screen windows and made some repairs to our bathroom. He is a serious craftsman and takes great pride in his work. I plan on using him again."

"Bowden installed an electrical outlet to operate an electric shad in the foyer, recessed light above the garage entryway and a ceiling fan. Plus the electrician was on time, very courteous and respectful, used drop clothes and shoe covers to minimize dirt, swept and vacuumed area, and reasonably priced. They receive an AAA plus. Will definitely will be using Bowden for other electrical projects. If looking for an awesome electrical company - contact Bowden"

"David Stiffler replaced a thermostat for my heated floor in the master bathroom. Because the old stat was discontinued, he had to research and find an alternative. David found a well priced substitute that worked, but not as efficiently as the original. When I told David Iâ d found a different model to try, he was more than willing to come back and replace the other one. After he installed the second stat, he returned the first and refunded the cost. Aside from doing a professional job, David is just a very pleasant person to be around. His primary concern was my satisfaction and I really appreciated that. I highly recommend Stifflerâ s Electric for its professionalism and for a pleasant customer experience!"

"Chapin Handyman does excellent work! We needed our basement windows (which had just been replaced by another contractor) to have either a trim border or wallboard put around them and decided to get caught up on a few other tasks that we just weren't getting around to. Nestor was very responsive for giving us a price, broken out by project. Each worker who came through (a) knew what was asked for from Nestor and also (b) double-checked the needs with us. The windows look *amazing* and we're really happy to have the ceiling fans switched out, our towel rack back up in the master bath, and the installation of a proper basement light switch (after making a bad call on not putting it in when we finished it years ago.) We can't recommend them enough!"

"Gerson did good work and was extremely easy to work with. We hired him to upgrade our electrical service to 200A. He quoted a fair price and did all the work on time, managed the permitting and inspections with the city, and was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. We also appreciated his honesty about what we could do safely -- we were thinking about adding a tankless water heater, which would have required adding three new electrical circuits. We were going to hire Gerson to do that work, but he advised against it as too much for our panel even with the upgraded service. Overall, we were very happy and would definitely hire Gerson again."

"The work that Mr Nesbitt did for us was to replace a bathroom fan that had failed. I do a fair number of home projects myself but didn't have the time for this one, and as anyone who has replaced a bathroom fan knows, this job is not as simple as it might seem. Here's how I would summarize the experience of working with Mr Nesbitt: Advantages - He was responsive to initial inquiries about the service as well as to other questions leading up to starting the job. - The quoted cost was reasonable given other estimates that we received, and he completed the job for the agreed price - He found a fan unit that met the specs that we requested (especially for sound level) - He was able to start the job within a matter of days after we agreed to move forward - He arrived on time on the day that we arranged with him to do the work - He completed the work exactly as we had discussed and within the time that he estimated it would take - He left the area clean after he completed the job - The workmanship of the work he performed was very good Disadvantages - I cant think of any The overall experience of working with Mr Nesbitt was very good, and we would definitely work with him again if other projects come up."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Before committing to this new project, you’re likely weighing the pros and cons of attic fans. The good news is that typical roof vents can only ventilate 150 to 300 square feet per unit, whereas a single attic fan can circulate enough air to vent an entire attic. By moving large volumes of air within and out of the attic space, an attic fan can lower the temperature by 15 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit and reduce moisture to prevent mold and mildew.

WD-40 in its liquid or aerosol form is highly flammable. Using it around live electrical parts, such as a bath fan, can generate fire and a dangerous condition. However, if you follow proper safety procedures, including disconnecting the power to the fan before working on it, WD-40 can help remove some of the grime that builds up in your bath fan.

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

Duct fans in HVAC systems last an average of 15 to 20 years. Because these fans operate in relatively controlled environments, they can maintain their efficiency for a long period of time. To maximize the lifespan of your duct booster fan, have your HVAC system maintained regularly.

A whole-house fan will not allow you to control your home's temperature and keep it at a specific temperature like a traditional AC unit would. You rely on the night and morning weather to cool your home down efficiently. Also, whole-house fans can be loud and may allow cold air to enter your home in the winter. They also require penetrations through your exterior walls or roof, which could invite water and pests in if they aren’t installed properly.
