"There were a total of 5 holes cut in our living room wall to do the tv mount & hide wires (done by a different service provider). Pete repaired the 5 holes, and repainted the wall. It looks great. You'd never know there were holes there. He was responsive via phone/email beforehand and came on a Saturday to get it done (which worked great for us, because we didn't have to go too long with holes in our living room wall.)"

"Danny did a phenomenal job repairing the ceiling drywall in both my kitchen and dining room & then painting both ceilings. "Carlos and his crew did outstanding work in installing a new ceiling in our living and dining rooms and in painting those rooms and our kitchen cabinets. "ALC did a fabulous job. We went from having a tiny, very old style bathroom to a real master bathroom. That meant moving a wall, putting in a new subfloor and tile, removing a shower stall and putting in a tub, and putting in a vanity. It also meant new lighting. We couldn't be more pleased. Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

A common cause of separation between a wall and the ceiling is truss lift—this can happen to the ceiling of rooms directly under the attic when the seasons change and wood building materials dry out, shrink, and shift. Roof trusses often dry out at different speeds, and if the bottom pieces dry out faster than the top pieces, they can shrink and pull the attached drywall away from ceilings and walls, causing cracks. Fortunately, truss lift is only a cosmetic problem, not a structural problem, and you can fix it by separating the ceiling drywall from the roof trusses, and patching the cracks.

Plaster is a pretty tough surface, but it can still sustain damage from things like bumping against it, water issues, dampness, extreme humidity changes, and plain old age. Most plaster walls last hundreds of years and will only be taken down to the base layer when major repairs are required. Being cautious around the wall, not placing furniture against it, and ensuring stable humidity are all great ways to reduce possible damage.

It's generally recommended to hang drywall on the ceiling first before moving on to the walls. This sequence allows the ceiling sheets to provide support for the vertical wall sheets. By attaching the ceiling drywall initially, you establish a solid framework to align and attach the wall panels accurately. This method ensures a seamless and sturdy connection between the ceiling and walls, resulting in a more professional finish.
