"There were a total of 5 holes cut in our living room wall to do the tv mount & hide wires (done by a different service provider). Pete repaired the 5 holes, and repainted the wall. It looks great. You'd never know there were holes there. He was responsive via phone/email beforehand and came on a Saturday to get it done (which worked great for us, because we didn't have to go too long with holes in our living room wall.)"

"ALC did a fabulous job. We went from having a tiny, very old style bathroom to a real master bathroom. That meant moving a wall, putting in a new subfloor and tile, removing a shower stall and putting in a tub, and putting in a vanity. It also meant new lighting. We couldn't be more pleased. However, the cost to replace plaster with drywall is higher—running between $720 and $1,250 for a 10-by-8-foot wall or ceiling (not including drywall finishing).

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

Some painters will repair minor drywall damage. For repair work of any kind, it’s a good idea to hire the professional required for the job. Many painters will have the materials on hand and can add them to the total cost. While you may save some money, there is a chance the work will be subpar compared to a professional who specializes in drywall.
