"Had a small inactive bird nest that needed to be removed. Called several companies to compare. First Solutions was very responsive and reasonably priced. Appointment, completion of work and payment was done with ease! Will hire again and refer to family and friends!"

"Ed was very prompt and explained everything thoroughly. He set up a few traps in the attic sealed the holes where the squirrels were coming in and then came back a few days later and relocated the squirrels. He also did an excellent job fixing the holes in the ceiling where the squirrels had punched through. Excellent service"

"I was told they would be there at about 8am.  I was coming to Baltimore from DC and was not sure I could make it by 8am.  They had the combo to my key box to get in, and I left extensive notes so they could get started before I arrived if I was late.  As it turned out, traffic was light and I was there at 7:45 am.  But the painters did not arrive til 9:30.  I was just about to leave, thought I had been stood up, when they arrived.  I had bought the Angie's list "2 painters for 8 hours" coupon, but really only got 7 hours.  Kargmans reaction to that is that since it was an Angie's list coupon, they could not refund any money.  Since they did not finish, did no woodwork, only the walls and ceilings,  I need them to come back.  I am not even sure I will get the same workers, who know exactly what they did and did not do.  All Kargmans said they could do was add another hour on to my new coupon.  I am not sure there is a full 8 hours worth of work to be done, let alone 9 hours.  And if I hadn't needed them back or chose to use someone else, I would have just been short changed.  They had to stop when they did, since the sun was setting, the light was not good for painting.
Besides the scheduling issue, and short changed on hours I had already paid for, they did very good work and were quick.  If they hadn't been, I probably would have gotten someone else to complete the job.  I did not appreciate them showing up 1 1/2 hours late, with absolutely no call informing me when they would show up (I was told they would call when they were on their way).  Coming so late then shortened their day.  There are only 9:31 hours of daylight now and the sun rises at 7:25.  There are no lights in the rooms being painted, so it has to be a daytime activity.  As the sun comes up and sets, lighting for painting is not very good (so even if there is 9hrs of work left, it will be hard to fit in 9 hours of painting}.  I suppose they can stretch any work for 9 hours if need be, and all the money has apparently gone to Angie's list and is not controlled by them (seems odd).
I just hope I can come back after they finish and revise this review.  Even though the work quality seems pretty good, customer service is extremely disappointing.
(PS: As they were finishing and were not complete, I tried to call the office to find out when the work could be finished, could these same workers come back to finish the job they had started.  This was about 4:20, the office was already closed.  Angie's list says they close at 4:30.  The message I got when calling, states they are closed at 4pm.   They give an emergency # to call.  Upon calling that emergency #, you get a message that in case of an emergency call the office #.  Thus there is no emergency #.  Messages I left at both #s were not returned.)

"Very professional and friendly.  I would rely on this company.
They gave me a window of 3 hours to arrive at the property, however I was the 1st appointment of the day so not sure why you can't confirm a time?  They also did not call me on their way to the job as discussed
I thought the price was reasonable for the service, however I can't confirm quality.  All I know is the job took a lot less than other chimney cleaning services I have had in the past.

"The work was excellent. I like the final outcome. You need to find out if he's overextended or how many jobs he's involved in at the time. We started the project in May and it should have taken six to eight weeks and we just finished it at the end of September. There were some glitches along the way that were probably out of his control, but a lot of it was more that he was overextended. The quality was good. I would maybe use them in the future. The work was good, but we would really have to negotiate what was going on and the time window and stuff like that. We wouldn't do this again. I would consider it."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Some birds of prey, like owls, hunt at night. Hawks are diurnal and need good light to see their prey. You could see them circling anytime from dawn to dusk. Species like the common red-tailed hawk are most active in the early morning and late evening when their prey is also typically on the go.

It is possible, though unlikely, that a home insurance policy will help cover the costs of professional bat removal. However, some policies will chip in for guano removal and associated repairs, such as replacing drywall. Take some time to read the fine print of your homeowner’s insurance policy and call your provider to inquire about bat removal, guano removal, and related repairs.

Legal considerations include adherence to local and federal wildlife protection laws, particularly for species that might be protected or endangered.

An owl's worst enemy in the wild is often other raptors and environmental factors. Among the avian threats, larger owls or other birds of prey can pose a danger, engaging in territorial disputes or competing for food resources. Terrestrial predators like foxes, raccoons, and larger mammals may target owl nests or young fledglings. Environmental factors like severe weather conditions, habitat loss, and food availability changes can also significantly impact owl populations.

When woodpeckers start banging on your walls or roof, they are probably looking for insects to eat, storing nuts for winter, drilling a hole to make a nest, or communicating with other birds to establish territory or find a mate.

The size of the hole can help determine the reason for the pecking. Small irregular holes are a result of insect hunts. Acorn holes are more consistently sized and often fitted with a nut in the middle. Nest holes are large and have rounded edges. If the bird is pecking to mark its territory or attract a mate, it may leave dents rather than holes, and the noise will stop when the mating season starts in spring.
