"This is the second time that Dig M Pools did and installation for us. Again we were very happy with the job they did. We purchased our pool from them and it is a well made product. The owners wife was very helpful when we were deciding what pool to purchase. I would recommend Dig M Pools as first choice. Excellent job. Thanks Dig M."

"Backyard Ponds is magic. I have a small backyard pond, stream and waterfall that have been
leaking for years. Various workmen had poured concrete into it, slathered mortar
between stones and sprayed special waterfall foam all over the sides of it. My
pond, stream and waterfall continued to leak. Hilary of Backyard Ponds looked at it for a while, moved one
stone and fixed the leak. How did you do that! I yelled. Well after you work on
enough of these things you get an eye for what the problem could be. Then she
vacuumed all the mud that had been clogging the pum , reattached the waterline
and pump that I could never get to stay together, restacked the rocks along the
edge of the stream so they actually sat on top of each other instead of sliding
down at all angles, and added a few strategically placed rocks to hide the pump
and waterline and cover the rubber sides of the stream. She added a regulator to
the water line so I could make the water run fast and slow. And more. I have had
a pond and stream for fifteen years, and many people have worked on it, from
expensive professioanl landscapers to guys I would swear the contractor picked
up off the street corner. The difference in using someone who specializes in
ponds is stunning. Backyard ponds is
magic.

"The technician was very competent and cordial, but the estimated costs were far higher than I can afford and not reasonable-- as I fixed it myself (replace the condenser fan motor) in 3.5 hours with parts roughly $100."

My pool needed pretty much a rework of all the filtering and pump equipment due to age.

Contacted several companies for quotes.  BJ's was in the middle ground pricewise, but 2 of the companies were also sky high on their estimates.

These guys removed all the old equipment, put in a new concrete pad, & installed all new equipment.

They started on schedule and finished when they said they would.

Bill from BJ's did a great job and is very professional as is everyone else there at BJs.

Bob (the owner of BJs) even found me a replacement for my outdated fiber optic light which had not worked in years and had been discontinued by the manufacturers for years as well. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack!

Thanks to all at BJs for the great job!

"The pros -- it was easy to talk to a human being on the phone and they were able to come on a Saturday.  The electrician came during the 4-hour window as promised.  He was polite and professionally dressed.  Free estimate.

The cons -- the guy didn't seem to know what he was talking about.  He tried to upsell a new breaker box for $2500, claiming that we needed additional spaces in the box and that it's "old" and that the slots aren't numbered.  Well, I can number them with a Sharpie for free -- I don't need a new box for that.

Second, he said it would be $179 to troubleshoot the malfunctioning light fixture.  When I asked how much it would be to replace it, he said $179.  Either way, I think this is pricey.  There was also a GFIC outlet that had tripped and he said it would be $179 to look at it, even though I can get a new one installed for $45.

Finally, there was a language barrier.  Given the importance of electrical safety, I felt this was a real impediment.  I really hate complaining about this, as the guy was very nice, but he had trouble explaining why the proposed work was needed.

I ended up choosing a different company and was told that we do not need a new electrical box.

In the end, I got a nice glossy brochure and free estimate but will not be using them."

"The owner of the company came out and gave me an estimate of the work I wanted his company to do the very same day I called him to inquire about using his company's services.  The work was started and finished according to the scheduled two days that he said it would take to complete everything that I wanted done.  The work was done in a professional, timely manner, by efficient, knowledgeable workers, who did an excellent job!!!  Mr. Martinez made sure that everything was to my satisfaction upon completion of the job.  When I told him that my old door to my carport shed was too raggedy and old to go back up, he had one of his carpenters install me a new door the very next day.  The carpenter who installed the door also did an excellent, professional job of reframing the door opening and installing a classy looking new door!
In summary, the company did an excellent, timely, and professional job of the work I contracted for, at a reasonable, competitive price.

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

The primary difference between a steam shower and a sauna is the type of heat they produce. A sauna generates dry heat using electricity, while a steam shower creates wet heat from steam, resulting in nearly 100% humidity. A steam shower typically replaces an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and operates at a lower temperature (around 90-120°F) than a sauna, though the high humidity can make it feel just as warm. It is advisable to limit steam sessions to 20 minutes. In contrast, a sauna is a fully enclosed space that can be placed anywhere in a house and produces dry heat.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

A home sauna may be considered a luxury item by some homebuyers, which can provide a good return on investment. However, whether it increases your home's value ultimately depends on the buyer, as some may not want to take on the extra costs and maintenance associated with heating and upkeep.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.
