"I have used Sino for two major basement renovations at two different houses. We used them at our house in DC and then again when we moved to VA. Both projects turned out beautifully. Mason (the owner) is a great guy, and is a very good communicator via phone/email/text, so that?s a huge plus. We?ve been very pleased with the aesthetics of his work. He?s pretty close to a perfectionist, which I really like because so am I. There was at least one case where he proactively noticed and decided to re-do something b/c it was not symmetrical and he was convinced he could make it look better (which he did). I really appreciated that kind of attention to detail.
Mason is good about working with you to get things the way you want them. I showed him a picture of a built-in (admittedly a comparatively simple one ? he opted out of doing something much more sophisticated involving custom drawers that would require a true cabinetmaker?s expertise) and his guys replicated it. And he seemed psyched to do that and pleased with how it turned out? I think he likes to expand his repertoire and portfolio.
Sometimes planning and making all the timing work out was a bit of a challenge ? especially if I wanted to use materials sourced from anywhere other than Home Depot. In other words, if his guys couldn?t go to Home Depot to pick up whatever they needed when they needed it, sometimes they did not anticipate in advance what the materials were - or communicate that to me in time for me to order them without slowing down the project. When I ordered special doors (from a company on the
West Coast) that took 3 weeks to arrive, it was clear that he wasn't super-happy about that. I'm sure he thought I was wildly high-maintentance! But he dealt with it fine, and now the doors look fabulous!
Since he is a general contractor, I?ve found through experience that everything goes much more smoothly if you have his team do essentially all the work (except for specialty things like waterproofing which they don?t do). In a nutshell, I think because he's been burned in the past he?s reluctant to coordinate with other contractors; he just wants to use his subs. But in my experience that's fine because I do think his guys are great and they do really good work. If you find any slip-ups, he is great about fixing them promptly and without complaint. Sometimes when problems crop up he can come up with good solutions, although once in a while I thought of things he didn?t think of, and we used my solution.
All in all I've had great experiences with S-A C and would definitely recommend them.

"After finding Tillerman Gardens online and requesting an estimate for substantial hardscape/landscape work on our newly renovated house, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that Jesse, the owner, actually grew up in our neighborhood! On top of being a Takoma Park local, and an all around friendly, honest, business owner, we also came to learn that he does great work as well! His team completely transformed our hardscape areas, including installing a beautiful flagstone walkway and patio, a perfectly graded cement driveway, iron railings on our steps, and plants in a number of locations. On top of that, some of the work required some touch up and sealing and Jesse and his team have come out a couple of times later this spring to do that work unprompted. There's a little bit left, but I know they'll be around to finish it as they've taken care of us every step of the way. Even better, everything was done in budget. Look no further! These are your go to guys for all landscape/hardscape work in the area!"

"I hired Ace to clean up the last two autumn's worth of leaves from my yard. The crew of three worked for four hours and cleared the worst of the build-up. They came with all the equipment needed for the job worked diligently for the entire time, and left my yard a lot clearer.

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Pros will assess your soil type, property geography, and rain patterns for optimal slope.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

ALTA/ACSM surveys are the most comprehensive type of land survey and, as such, tend to be the most expensive. These surveys have standardized guidelines and reports and are used in many kinds of real estate transactions to ensure consistent and accurate information is available for properties.

A land survey defines and records the physical aspects of a property, including its boundaries, dimensions, easements, features, and sometimes topographical information. In contrast, a land appraisal determines the property's monetary value. While an appraiser will often consult a land survey to understand the property's physical specifications, the survey itself does not determine the land's value.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.
