"Mr William Zavala is a very honest businessman who evaluated my floors and told me that instead of sanding and refinishing I needed to use a different cleaning and polishing process for"

"Excellent service. Bought a townhouse that had built ins and once removed the bamboo floor needed to be matched. DFD was amazing, they found a product that matched and you would never know the floor was patched. The rug is beautiful too. I wish all businesses offered such good service. Will definitely use them again and most definitely recommend them. Plus their prices were very good too!!!"

"I am extremely pleased with the work performed by Kustom Floors who restored my hickory floors with an amazing Rubio Monocoat finish which brought out the rich variations of the wood with the deep glow and warmth of the hickory, which is a very hard and beautiful wood. Not only did they understand the care required in the sanding of the floor, but their finish trim work in some difficult areas was flawless."

"

Contacted BR Flooring for an estimate and met with Wesley (owner).  He promptly provided 3 estimates as requested; the prices were reasonable compared to the other estimates.  Based on his rating and the initial meeting, I hired him.  He stated that the work takes 2 days to complete and he and his crew will arrive between 8:30-9:30 to begin work.  But on the first day, my concern was raised when only one worker showed up – no one in charge to explain the logistics of the job.  I was concerned because there were a very large and heavy china cabinet and that needed to be moved.  No way can this lone worker move this furniture.  Feeling badly because he had no help, I found sliders so the furniture doesn’t need to be lifted.  He and I moved the furniture.  He was kind enough to help me remove the numerous items from the room and the cabinet.

On the second day, I expected workers to show up between 8:30-9:30 since that was the time that was given.  Instead, they showed up at 8:00am.  I let them inside, but then one of the workers wanted to get to the fuse box.  Again, no explanation was given on the process.  My concern was raised again when he thought that only the existing floor was to be sanded and stained.  I informed him that the new floor had to be sanded in order to match with the existing floor.  Why did I have to tell him that?  This detail should have been communicated to the workers.  My concern was the handling of the heavy furniture and who was to return it to its original location.  So I called Wesley and he explained that someone will have to return the next day.  I was perturbed by this because I’ve already taken 2 days off work and wasn’t plan to take another.  He sounded irritated – not sure if he was having a bad hair day or just didn’t like a woman asking him questions.  His behavior was far different from behavior that I encountered during the initial meeting.

In summary, this may be my first time in contacting someone to perform this type of work, but I have expectation as a customer.  I expect the process to be explained to me in advance or at least that day.  I shouldn’t have to keep on asking for the process.  I am not your friend and I didn’t get the work for free so when you take my money, you should show some respect.  Then he had the hubris of sending me an incorrect invoice – one that costs more than originally stated.  Luckily, I requested everything via email to avoid any dispute.

The workers did an amazing job and I would hire them, but I would NEVER work with Wesley again.  Very unprofessional and argumentative once he was hired.  I went through Angie’s List to avoid people like him.  There are other people who will offer fantastic work with reasonable prices without the attitude.  Hire someone else to avoid the aggravation.

"I am very happy with my new solid hardwood floors. Lux Flooring was very competitive pricing wise. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive. Although pricing was considered, I choose Lux Flooring because Juan was extremely knowledgeable and was able to tell me potential problems that could arise, AHEAD of time. He wasn’t here just to get the job done, he was here to get a job very well done. Very knowledgeable and professional."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Before property transactions or major improvements to ensure accuracy.

When considering the price of drilling a well, factor in how much you’ll save in water costs per year. The average family of four uses 100 gallons of water per person per day in the U.S. With a private water well, you can save hundreds each year.

Wells are also environmentally friendly. You don’t need to worry about drinking water treated with chemicals. Talk to at least three well pump contractors in your area. They’ll be able to tell you more about your options, give you different quotes, and discuss the biggest concerns.

Pros will assess your soil type, property geography, and rain patterns for optimal slope.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Land surveying can help give clear guidance on your property boundaries for numerous situations. And in some cases, having your land surveyed is a requirement. Some common reasons to have your land surveyed include:

  • Planning for construction projects, like building a fence

  • Locating utilities, such as plumbing fixtures

  • Settling property line disputes

  • Creating subdivisions

  • Meeting mortgage requirements

  • Selling your property
