"I have used American Professional Chimney and Masonry on three different occasions and I am very happy with the work and the service. They are my "go to". I had the upper 40% of my chimney rebuilt, I had chimney liners installed, and I recently had a couple of smart solutions done to prevent smoke from going up and out of one flue, and down the one right next to it. I'm confident that this problem has been eliminated in advance of the upcoming fall/winter wood burning season. I will continue to use APCM for maintenance."

"Sergio and his Community Chimney team came to pull the old chimney liner and install a new one and install new inside pipes for a wood stove. They cleaned the stove window too, which was really blackened. It looks great! And the updraft is fantastic. They were professional, nice, the price was great, and the disruption was minimal. They were so quiet! I had this done long ago and I know how disruptive it can be. Everything was protected and totally cleaned up. They were amazing. Highly, highly recommend."

"Chimney.com did a great job in chimney relining. The work was inspected and approved by WSSC today. Their staff are very courteous, honest, professional, and responsible. Their young technician Dave is efficient, hard working, knowledgeble. I give this company and their staff a five star!"

"Could have been a lot better. I really wanted to like these guys based on a lot of positive AL reviews. After the initial inspection before having chimney cleaned, I was told the liner (tile) was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. I agreed to a price estimate of $3600. Two weeks later they came to do work and two men spent an entire day, but could not insert the new liner. They said estimator did not tell them scaffolding would be needed. The next day (after being told another crew would arrive around 8AM), they showed up at 11:00 and immediately said they were going to lunch. Afterwards, they told me that the first crew was inexperienced and that they had 20 years experience doing this. After some time they told me it was highly recommended I replace the second flue liner for the furnace. They said since they were already there and had everything set up that it would be an additional $1200. After talking to the office, they decided that it couldn't be done that day, and it would instead cost me an additional $2600. I took a pass. Crew seemed very eager to leave, collect their check, and get back home. Had to move back furniture myself. As I said.....really wanted to give these guys a good review, but this was not a very pleasant experience. **UPDATE** This is a follow up to my review from 1/20/2020. I received a call from the owner (Jim) and was very pleased that he took the time to explain everything to me and was very eager to address all my concerns, including personally coming out to my house and advising me on another issue with my furnace venting that I had not known about. So, ultimately, the work done was fine and very professional and it totally changed my opinion when the owner showed such understanding and support. This is what good customer service ought to be."

Customers say: True professional

"Very professional. Good communication as to arrival and what work was going to be done. Jamie is a pleasure to work with. I've had him clean my dryer vents several times over the last few years. Will also be using him and his crew to fix some issues with a chimney. Highly recommend."

"Tim was timely, thorough, and honest about the state of my chimney and work that needed to be done. He was very professional, but down to earth and easy to work with. I have worked with him in the past, and know that he is meticulous with his inspection and trust his professional guidance with the work that needs to be done. I highly recommend Top Shelf Chimney. I will be using them again for the repairs and for future inspections."

Chimney Liner Installation questions, answered by experts

Common problems include liner tears, pump malfunctions, and algae buildup. Regular maintenance prevents many issues.

Permits ensure compliance with local ordinances, mainly if structural changes are involved or when modifying property water systems.

It’s best to avoid having wrinkles in a new pool liner. Since pool liners are very thin, it’s easy to have slight wrinkles in the liner upon initial installation. This might negatively affect your pool’s visual appearance and lead to tearing and holes in some cases. You’ll want to ensure proper measurements and accurate alignment during the installation process to prevent unsightly wrinkles from appearing.

You don’t need to drain the whole pool to patch a pool liner, but be prepared to dive in with your swimsuit and goggles to patch a leak below the water level. By draining the pool, you can actually expose the liner to more harsh conditions, like wind and sunlight, that cause the tears to worsen. It’s best to use the ink test and waterproof patches or tape to identify the leak and patch it up.

Costs range from $25,000 to $50,000, depending on size, design, and additional features.
