"Maxim Naftchi (owner of Fox Creek) came to our home as scheduled to have a look at what we wanted done.  He arrived at around 5 pm and stayed until close to 11 pm.  His routine includes taking rough measurements, drawing detailed sketches of the house along with pictures, measurements and other notes, and presenting the potential customer with actual samples of siding and windows (miniature scaled) and finding out our likes, dislikes and cost budget limits.  By the time he left, we had a final written estimate and a very detailed preliminary contract.  He was very low pressure, paid attention to our likes/dislikes and made great recommendations.
There was a couple of weeks delay in getting the job started while the products we ordered were being shipped, but Maxim's crew went to work as soon as all of the materials were staged on our property.  We had been under the impression that there would be several different crews working on different tasks, but all of the work was completed over about 3 weeks (it rained a few times during this period) by just two carpenters.  The only exception to this was a separate crew of around 5 or 6, who put on the gutters & downspouts (in probably an hour) and returned the next day to install gutter covers which they'd forgotten the day before (for all of about 20 minutes).  Freddy and Harold (the primary crew of two carpenters) took longer than we expected (since we were expecting a larger crew) but much shorter than what one would expect for only two workers,  All of the trim work was custom bent and cut meticulously on site,  The first day they were here they replaced every one of our 17 windows and the front door & sidelights, and nearly all sealed. Because the siding work had to be delayed every time they reached a window, light fixture or outlet for which trimwork was to be bent, cut and installed, it was a little painful having to look at exposed Raindrop (tyvec) on the house for so long, but the finished product was every bit worth the wait.  The exterior of our home was completely transformed and we're 100% satisfied with the transformation.  We feel that the total cost was reasonable for the job performed.  We'll try and attach a "before and after" picture to this review once we figure out how to do it."

"Excellent workmanship and products I have had three installations with Power in the past two years. I first used them for a new roof and gutters. The workers were all knowledgeable in their area of work. Clean up was good although some nails kept showing up over time. Next I had the 2nd floor windows and some 1st floor windows replaced, 9 in total. Installation went well and they cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I love the windows! They are a beautiful and energy efficient product. Lastly, I recently had a bay window replaced in my kitchen with the same type window. The workers ere all friendly and explained what would be done. The area was draped with plastic to cut down on dust. Clean up was excellent inside and outside! The window is beautiful and the framing on the outside of the window matches the other windows and the small roof above the bay window was replaced with the same roofing as the rest of the house. I would choose them again for any future projects."

"I've used this company before, and they never let me down. I had a break-in at one of my rental units a few days ago. They broke the glass on the front door. BCG came the next morning and replaced the door, changed the locks, and had it ready to go before the end of day. They also had some excellent advice for securing my other windows. They do great work. I can recommend BCG without reservations."

"Glass Impressions did a wonderful job of cleaning all 19 windows in our home, inside & out, including the inside sills, screens and also 2 glass storm doors. Mr. Waters and his team are very good at what they do. They were very reasonable. I plan to use them again, as needed."

Windows questions, answered by experts

The most likely cause of smearing or streaking after cleaning your windows is residue left on the glass from the cleaner you’re using. Consider diluting the solution and cleaning them again, or use old newspaper to dry the windows after cleaning, as this will soak up any residual material. Additionally, aim to clean your windows on a cool, cloudy day, as cleaners will dry more quickly on the glass if it’s hot and sunny, promoting streaking.

Yes, home appraisers look at your windows when appraising your property to determine the market value of your home. They’ll factor in the type of windows, quality, condition, whether or not there are screens covering the windows, frame materials, size, insulation, and more to come up with an unbiased property assessment.

Using plastic shrink film over the window will cut down on drafts, which makes the air inside your home feel warmer. Plastic shrink film doesn’t quite have the insulative properties of a new window or of adding insulation inside the window jamb, but it will help. Plus, it’s a cost-effective solution to keeping your home warmer.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.

Fiberglass and wood windows last the longest, with lifespans of up to 45 years or more with proper maintenance. Wood windows are more expensive than vinyl and aluminum windows, but they’re 10% to 20% less expensive than fiberglass windows. Repairing and restoring wood windows is also easier than with fiberglass windows, so they’re considered the more durable option overall.
