"We were delighted with the outcome of the installation of a new surround on our fireplace. This was a re-do of an initial installation by another contractor that did not work out too well! I was nervous about getting this done right and Kevin put me at ease immediately. He was precise, highly skilled, and very aware that we were not happy with the first installation. It turned out beautifully."

"Man sent to do various odd jobs in Germantown--install blinds, TV mount, cabinet, etc.--was efficient and easy to communicate with. Did exactly what I needed with quality work and kept me informed of any problems he encountered. Price was reasonable."

"Based on several other A/L reviews, I called and scheduled to have Todd come out to our house for this job. There was a wind storm the week before and three pieces of our siding blew off. They came from the tallest part of the house to boot. I was not about to go up there on a ladder. Todd arrived on time, about 5:30. I pretty sure Todd is only available at night, but certainly that comes in handy so as not to have to take time off from work. Todd looked at the siding and explained that the installer did not use nails, but simply snapped them into place. That lasted decades, but still, he was telling me they should be screwed/nailed into the house. He attached the pieces and used silicone to seal around each of them. It was completely dark by the time he had finished (he brought a light), but when I looked at it the next day (with my telescopic camera lens), I could see that it was done neatly and professionally. I delayed writing this review so I could see if his work held up through a few months of winter winds, and it has! Due to my very positive experience with this job, I would not hesitate to have Todd come back out to my house for additional jobs in the future."

"We contracted Blue Diamond Contractors LLC to install a new mailbox for us after our prior mailbox had been hit by a truck. The installation was promptly done for a reasonable price per US Postal Regulations. This individual had installed our previous mailbox a number of years prior. We have been very satisfied with the work performed."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

First, it is crucial to check your local guidelines or building codes. You should typically have one smoke detector for every floor, bedroom, and kitchen. Another rule of thumb is to install one smoke detector for every 500 feet in a home. Reviewing manufacturing recommendations, especially for interconnected devices, is also a good idea to ensure proper connection and monitoring.

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches, often due to loose connections, exposed wiring, or overheating, can cause sparking or arcing. If you hear a crackling, popping, or hissing sound when you use the switch, it indicates live electricity arcing inside, which is a significant hazard that can ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, turn off the power to that circuit at the breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.

No, it is not safe to leave a propane heater on overnight. Even if you’re using the heater in a well-ventilated space, the heaters can emit carbon monoxide that can lead to fires. Be sure to fully turn off and secure the propane heater before clearing the area.

Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.

The best way to store firewood is outdoors and away from your home, shed, or garage. Stacking wood against your house can be a fire hazard and attract unwanted pests. Store your firewood under a shelter where it's protected from rain and snow but still exposed to sunlight and open air. You can lay a tarp on top to help keep moisture out.
