"Very good experience. The contractor was responsive with communications and provided a competitive and fair price. No surprises in doing the work, he replaced a broken skylight and repaired displaced shingles on my detached 3-car garage. Professional in his approach and conduct, provided a quote and competently did what he said he would do. I plan to hire him in the future as projects arise."

"I used Griffin a few years ago to do roof repairs, fix a leak that had water pouring through my kitchen, and install new gutters.  They did a wonderful job, were easy to deal with, and were very professional.  Last week they came out free of charge to fix a problem with a downspout caused by a gutter cleaner.  I highly recommend Griffin.

"I had gutter helmet installed 20 years ago and it has been a lifesaver - no gutter cleaning! My house backs up to woods, so lots of tall trees, leaves and pollen. With gutters at 2 and 3 stories, cleaning was necessary, but expensive before Gutter Helmet installation. Today, I had a section of helmet repaired due to damage from a fallen limb. The repair crew was great. They made the necessary repairs and cleaned and checked the gutters on the rest of the house. Gutter Helmet works great and in the event of problems the company is very responsive."

"Excellent hard-working crew gave us a new roof and repaired water-damaged woodwork within 36 hours. They accidentally clipped a TV cable, but made things right by paying for the replacement. Very good response times via instant messaging. Will use them again to replace gutters next year."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Water should not be dripping behind your gutters. Rain dripping between your gutters and the fascia might indicate that the gutters are misaligned with the fascia board or there are loose screws in the gutters, allowing water to pass through. Start by checking for these issues and make repairs ASAP.

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.

The trick to getting gleaming gutters can vary based on the material of your gutters. Aluminum gutters can often be restored to pristine condition by using a cloth to scrub them with a solution consisting of 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water. Vinyl gutters can be whitened using dish soap and water. For deeply stained vinyl gutters, adding bleach with water and dish soap may help to remove black streaks. Many retailers sell premixed gutter sprays. Applying cleaning solutions to dry gutters before rinsing can help cleaners attach to dirt and grime for easier removal.

Absolutely—and lots of it. Overflowing water from your gutters can damage your siding and your roof. All of the moisture getting into the cracks and crevices of your home can lead to mold or mildew problems down the line. In addition, when water pools around your home, it needs a place to go—and sometimes it ends up inside the house, creating a very unwanted flood.

Yes, caulking or sealing your vinyl gutters is a good way to help prevent gutter leaks. When you’re installing gutters, it’s important to overlap the sections to help avoid issues like leaks or drips, but they can still happen. In this case, adding caulk can help. Make sure to use a caulk designed for multiple surfaces, like a silicone-based caulk. You can also purchase a gutter sealant as well, which is specifically designed for this purpose.
