I was told a free quote was 39.99, that turned to 59.99 when I got the estimate and it was waaaaaay over priced and then wanted me to pay a fee to get a warranty for their work! I would have expected a warranty on his work should have been given to me! I needed the job done right away, he was pleasant and courteous but never again with this company."

"I had a new electrical line I wanted to run for a display light attached to a grandfather clock in our foyer. I also requested a switch be added to our wall panel by the front door to operate it. The job involved seeking a route for running wire behind the ceiling and drywall from our basement to the first floor of the house. The installation was complicated and obviously required a healthy amount of expertise in all respects. The work was accomplished with a minimal amount of mess (two small holes) and the quad switch panel added by our front door operates flawlessly. During the same visit they also replaced four decorative ceiling light fixtures and repaired a bad electrical outlet to boot. The workers were fast, efficient and friendly (even to my dog). I can't say enough about this company to do this justice. Very satisfied with my decision to give them a call."

"This is a little bit of a different review. The other day, the disposal and a few outlets suddenly stopped working. I assumed that one of the circuit breakers had been tripped, and went to check, but none had been. I flipped them all anyways to be sure and checked a few other things, but nothing worked. So I grudgingly looked for an electrician, even though I was sure it was something simple. I went to Angie’s List and solicited 4 quotes, and ultimately set up an appointment for an electrician to come. Only Brandon from J & G messaged me to ask about the problem, and after I gave more details, he provided the solution. It turns out that GFCI outlets have their own circuits built in and are reset directly on the outlet itself (just push the reset button). I would have been very annoyed if I had to take off work, wait for the electrician and pay the service fee just for him to push the reset button. So, even though J & G didn’t work in my house, they provided great service (at no charge). If I ever do need real electrical work, I’ll definitely be calling them first. Thanks!"

"I claimed one of the “2 Toilet Tune-Up” Angi’s special with 4 Service Pros (Snell). When I contacted Snell I talked with a very nice lady who scheduled me to get 2 plumbers to come out the next day from Noon - 4pm. I was told they would call 20 minutes to 30 minutes before hand to let me know they were coming. I waited from Noon to 4:05pm, never received a phone call, and so I called Snell to find out if my plumbers were still coming. I was told that there was an emergency situation in Chantilly, VA, that required my 2 plumbers to go to Chantilly instead of my place that morning. I understand emergencies do happen, but Snell knew that my plumbers were needed for that major Chantilly, VA, leak from the morning. They should have called me once they found out that my assigned plumbers would not be able to come out to my place within my scheduled time appointment. I should not have had to wait from noon to 4pm and then have to call them to find out that they were not coming. I rescheduled with them, and set another appointment for the next day The next day Brandon Thomas came out, and he was outstanding. He is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and a very good plumber. My problems turned out to be quite different than I originally had thought and he explained my options. I went with the option that he recommended and am very happy with the results. He also gave me discounts to help make-up for my inconvenience for having to re-schedule the appointment. I definitely recommend Snell (4 Service Pros) to all my friends and family."

"We worked with CET several years ago to install recessed lights in our basement; Rob did a really great install so we knew we’d somehow work with them eventually. Fast-forward to last month: we wanted to install more recessed lights along with a ceiling fan in our living room. Lucky for us, we were able to work with Rob again. The shape of our room is awkward and asymmetrical, but Rob provided some great options and suggestions, and pointed out some details we wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. "I had written a very satisfied review 8 months ago. That review was based on the fact that my outside 220V charger was working properly and the worked had been done in a professional manner. What I had liked a lot less was a bit of a mess which had been left behind and that I only noticed too late. Also when I met with Alan Pumphrey I had asked for adjusting 3 fans deep switches, a work which was forgotten. I paid my invoice upon receiving it, but at the same time pointed out the items I had not liked, which I thought was good feedback. Alan reached out to me with apologies, and when I mentioned that he had forgotten the deep switches he said "do not worry, I will take care of it". Sure enough a short while later the technician and an apprentice dropped by, on their way to another job, spent maybe 15 mn in my house, and fixed the issues. The next thing I know is that I received a bill for $ 262.50, that was what "taking care of" meant. When I complained, they agreed to take off the charges for the apprentice, but not the entire bill. What is leaving a bad taste is not so much the bill as the messiness of the procedure. No invoice was sent or agreed upon, leaving room for too much misunderstanding. And yes, it is worth mentioning that the whole issue started with the original work leaving a bit of a mess behind."

"Bob McGinnis 2:46 PM (0 minutes ago) to me TriStar just finished the installation of my new Generac 22kk standby generator and I couldn't be more pleased. From John, who came out and sized up the job (and made sure I passed inspections) to Amanda, who was always there to answer my questions and schedule crews to come out to top-notch electricians, like Todd and Brendon, who did a stellar job - it was clear this was a top-notch company. Communications were excellent - via email, phone or text - and they were always on time. It was a lengthy journey since I had the worst-case scenario of needing my gas line and gas meter upgraded. Navigating the BGE waters to get this done was challenging, to say the least, and TriStar has an excellent plumbing partner that worked closely with me all along the way. When all was said and done and that generator fired up today I knew the time, money and effort was worth it. Highly recommend them!"

"the "contractor" this company uses is really more of a handyman. i was initially happy with the job, but after a few weeks things started falling apart. contractor did not properly prep the ceiling and within 2,3 months there were cracks, bubbling, peeling on the ceiling. did not put a schluter on flooring and cement slab is exposed. did not plaster or spackle old nail holes, just painted over them. did not prep closet shelves for painting. was forced to spend an additional $2,200 to fix these items."
