Insured, licensed and bonded we provide perfect service delivery to every customer, every time. We are a two time "Best Of Baltimore" winner. "Home Systems Appliance Repair did an excellent repair on my 18 year old panel-ready 42 inch Built-In counter depth GE Profile Refrigerator. The original GE tech who looked at the leak in the freezer evaporator a year ago, told me the refrigerator was non repairable because the "vacuum pump" retrofit part it needed was no longer available. After paying his $200 visit fee for a 2 minute consultation, he offered me a discount on a new GE refrigerator to fit which had not been built yet. Fast forward to now, GE does have 42 inch built-in counter depth Monogram side-by-side for $12,000 and $2,000 of Kraftmaid panels. Home Systems Appliance Repair cost me $400 to identify and fix a broken heat transfer tab in the freezer evaporator unit. I saved $15,000 - - not bad for paying Appliance Repair for a 2 hour job. They seriously looked and found the problem. I highly recommend Manny (the tech who did the work), and Home Systems Appliance Repair. Susan"

"The pro was friendly, professional, nice, and very knowledgeable about problem with my washing machine. Furthermore, he was upfront and honest with me; he informed me that it would be more cost effective for me to get a new washing machine instead of trying to fix mine. Excellent!!! 100% satisfied with entire interaction from calling to schedule appointment to pro who came to my house. "

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

With proper cleaning and maintenance, most ovens last 15 to 20 years. When it comes to longevity, ovens are one of the more enduring appliances. That's because ovens don't have as many moving parts as other popular large appliances, like dishwashers and washing machines, so they don't wear out as quickly.

Electric stoves cost an average of $600 to $1,300. Gas stoves can cost as little as $300 but are usually around $1,000. The price depends on functionalities, capacity, and technology. Newer models with Wi-Fi connection or remote app control typically cost a lot more. Induction stoves, one of the newest additions to the market, can be an expensive upfront investment. Most of them cost around $1,500, with higher-end models costing over $2,500.

Professional repair is advisable for electrical issues, refrigerant leaks, or unfamiliar problems. Technicians can accurately diagnose and fix such problems, ensuring safety and appliance longevity.

Since there aren’t many moving parts to an oven, the list of repairs it might need is relatively short. Most times, when a repair is needed, it’s due to a part simply burning out. Some common oven repairs you might come across include:

  • Broken door glass

  • Stuck or broken ignitor

  • Stuck gas valve

  • Fractured heating element

  • Busted control board

In most cases, it’s worth hiring a professional installer to place and connect your appliances. Appliances like a washer and dryer are heavy and bulky, so they can be dangerous and challenging to maneuver into your home, especially if you have to move up or down stairs. Some appliance manufacturers might void your warranty or portions of it if your appliance is installed incorrectly, which is more likely to happen with a DIY installation. Additionally, any appliances requiring connections to gas or water lines should only be handled by professional installers for safety reasons.
