"Frank and his team did an excellent job from start to finish. He arrived the same day I requested an estimate and replaced my 30 year old system 3 days later. The new HVAC is wonderful. No mess or damage, great price, and great quality you would expect from a small privately owned company."

"I had a great experience with this HVAC company! They were professional, arrived on time, and quickly diagnosed the issue with my air conditioning unit. They explained the repair clearly, completed the work efficiently, and had my AC running perfectly again. The technician was courteous, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions. "I used Regal Duct Cleaning today. Our home is 60+ years old. We have only lived in it for 20 months and there was more dust, dirt and webs than I had ever imagined. Julius and his crew arrived at the scheduled time. He was extremely professional. We went from room to room looking at every every vent, cold air return. His crew worked for five hours, cleaning the ducks, dryer vent and installed a UV light. I highly recommend Regal Duct Cleaning . I will definitely use them again! To see the before and after pictures was a real eye opener. Great Job!"

Emergency services offered

"This company came highly recommended, as many of today's technicians cannot service traditional "steam" boiler systems. Ever since last year's "furnace emergency", this "Old House" here found "its rescue match" with Pohlman Plumbing & CJ, a highly skilled specialist, who tweaked the boiler back to "steam". Explaining why my Amish-built "Oldie-Goldie" was here to last, CJ enjoyed "challenges" & was not trying to "up-sell". This positive experience of transparency & trust convinced us that we'd found "the" company for all our "Old House" future HVAC & plumbing needs, thx!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

A dual evaporator coil is a specific design that allows the AC system to cool different compartments at different levels. It’s usually seen in refrigerators and similar appliances, but not in whole-house air conditioning systems. Talk with your AC technician about the best uses for a dual evaporator coil.

Yes, you can build a deck over your outdoor HVAC unit, but you need to leave at least 5 feet of vertical clearance above the unit. If you don’t want your deck to be that high off the ground, you could build a floating deck in another part of your yard—again, as long as you leave at least 4 feet of horizontal space between the deck and your AC unit.

When an evaporator coil becomes faulty, it can result in various problems within your HVAC system. These problems could include reduced cooling or heating capabilities due to ice formation and obstructed airflow, along with increased energy consumption and higher bills. Additionally, a damaged coil may lead to refrigerant leaks, which are environmentally harmful and decrease overall system efficiency.

Ultimately, if not addressed right away, a bad evaporator coil can even lead to a complete failure of your HVAC system. That’s why timely repair or replacement is crucial to maintaining your family’s comfort and your HVAC’s efficiency.

Your central A/C unit should be professionally serviced and inspected at least once a year to ensure it operates properly and efficiently. This is best done before the peak cooling season. A full-service inspection by a qualified pro will typically include checking safety components for issues like carbon monoxide leaks, verifying cooling components and coolant levels, and inspecting electrical parts like fuses and wiring. Regular servicing enhances efficiency, mitigates potential problems, and maintains optimal performance. Because AC systems contain hazardous refrigerant, professional handling is essential.

This depends on the extent of the freezing. Some ACs only need an hour or two to thaw out, but others may need a full day to completely unfreeze. Once you turn off the system to let it unfreeze, check it periodically to make sure the drain pan doesn’t overflow. When you turn the system back on, keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t start freezing again.
