"Innovative Home Improvement is hands down the best contractor I've hired. They are professional, courteous, and hard working. I asked four different contractors to submit quotes for the job and Paul came back with a price at or below the others, but quoted premium insulated vinyl siding where as the others quoted regular siding. Paul's team, Mr. Jung and Alex are tireless workers, even working weekends when weather took the weekdays away. The previous owners had new siding put on as a part of "flipping" the house 5 years ago. However, the contractors they hired did not repair the rotted out, molded, and left holes everywhere. They also failed to add house wrap, which created an even more hazardous living condition for my family. "We ended up seeking 4 quotes for a small job, Had lost a few shingle due to recent high winds on a 16 yr old roof. One contractor from Berlin, refused to travel 30 mi to quote unless we guaranteed we were going to contract. Two others looked at the roof, took measurements, but one never gave us a quote, and the other was $8000. .One week later, Spicer Bros installed the roof. "Fantastic roof job. Very careful- we have not found a single nail in our yard, flowerbeds were covered and they were careful not to damage them.. Fast- Erick showed up the day I called for a quote, and then the day of service they were in by 7:30 and out by about 3:30. Very fair price- 3 got three quotes and Erick's was the lowest but offered exact same service. Good- the roof looks great, flashing well done, everything even and smooth. Would definitely recommend them. The only lesson I learned? And this is just an FYI, nothing to do with Canales- If you have stuff in your attic, I recommend covering it with a tarp. The old asphalt roof grit falls in the old nail holes and makes a mess."

You can put new siding over clapboards, but it’s not recommended. Some sidings, like vinyl siding, can go over clapboards with sheathing like a foam layer in between.
