"I received a phone call and they told me what time to expect them, they were on time. They got right to work laying down drop cloths and covering the toilet and the sink and flooring. They told me everything they found that was a problem and fixed it without charging extra for it, put in all new plumbing behind the wall and new fixtures. They took such great care to vacuum as they were going along so there was no mess at any time. I am on oxygen and I was concerned that with them taking things out and cutting into things that I may have a hard time breathing, but there was nothing in the air, no fumes or strong glue smells or anything. "I called Surfside in advance to set up an appointment and was advised to call on the day of service. The day we needed them, I called at approximately 12:30 PM and they arrived to install the new toilet an hour or so later. The plumber did a very good job, removed the old toilet, disposed of it, and installed the new one. He insured it was solidly seated, and cleaned up the entire area before he left. We were very pleased not only with the responsiveness of Surfside, but also the work of the plumber who responded to our call. If needed, we will surely use them again."
Start by gutting the old fixtures and features that need to be removed, such as the tile, vanity, and flooring. You may benefit by removing the toilet, even if you intend to use the same one. Next, install the new shower or tub, followed by the flooring, and then the drywall, which you should then paint. After that, install your new cabinets, vanity, countertop, sink, and faucet, in that order. Replace your light fixture next. Lastly, reconnect the toilet.
Toilet augers are hand-held drain snakes. Most of them come with 3 to 6 feet of cleaning cable and a curved, plastic elbow sleeve to protect your toilet bowl. If your clog does not go beyond the toilet’s wax seal, a 3-foot auger would be sufficient. Otherwise, you may need a 6-foot auger to unclog the drain.
It is okay to use a drain auger on a toilet, just make sure you are using the correct tip size. The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.

You can tell if your toilet fill valve is full by removing the lid and taking a look. When you flush the toilet, the float is at the bottom of the tank, the water empties, and the fill valve opens. The float rises to the top as the tank fills again with water.
