"Great again, hired them back two weeks after they came do yardwork and land clearing they put up my fence, row my entire property, a chain-link and salt a chain-link gate at the front of the property so people couldn’t use my driveway as a U-turn put an electric gate opener on there and they came out perfect I will be using them in the future and from now on they are my go to company"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Cambridge, it’s best to prioritize fencing projects if you notice gaps, leaning sections, or damage before storm season, especially with summer hurricanes or nor’easters approaching. Address urgent needs like security, pet containment, or livestock safety right away. For projects focused on curb appeal or privacy, you can wait for milder weather or better contractor availability, but always check for property boundary issues before delaying.

Helpful?

Combining fencing with landscaping, drainage improvements, or outdoor lighting in Cambridge can streamline your project and minimize disruption. Coordinating with irrigation or security system installations is especially helpful for waterfront properties. Grouping projects in spring or fall helps avoid weather delays, and working with local professionals familiar with property boundaries and storm-resistant materials ensures smoother, more efficient upgrades.

Helpful?

Homes in Cambridge near wetlands or the Chesapeake Bay often require extra steps, such as securing environmental permits and following strict setback requirements. If your property is in a historic district, you’ll need to match approved fencing materials and styles. Additionally, high water tables and clay soils can make post installation challenging, while waterfront lots may have utility easements or crabbing access that influence your fencing plans.

Helpful?

In Cambridge, look for rust or corrosion on metal fencing due to salt air, leaning or unstable posts after storms, and wood rot at the base from frequent flooding. Posts pulling out of soft, waterlogged soil are a common issue. If your fence doesn’t align with current setback or historic district standards, or you notice marine pest damage near the water, it’s time to consider replacement or repairs.

Helpful?

Start by confirming your property boundaries to avoid disputes, especially with Cambridge’s unique waterfront lots. Prioritize installing a secure perimeter for safety and consider pool fencing if applicable. Deer fencing is useful for protecting gardens from local wildlife. Opt for storm-resistant materials to withstand coastal weather, and if you have a boat launch, ensure fencing respects both access rights and local environmental guidelines.
