"Jim was hired to clean our church. He works for the church all year long. The types of service questions above, do not have his service listed. Jim goes above and beyond expectations with his cleaning. Jim will call me and ask if there are any special jobs that need attention. He is aware of our church schedule and special events. He has excellent communication skills. You can always reach him if there is a question about something. He offered his services to clean and polish our dining hall and other vinyl floors that were very in need of extreme cleaning and polishing. We were able to use his equipment and materials with our church crew to do this major job one Saturday afternoon with no additional charge. The floors are beautiful. He has offered to put a couple of more finish coats on these floors in the next couple weeks to make them look even better. St. Paul's of Hopkinton, MA couldn't be happier with his services."

"We had a serious water heater leak throughout 4 rooms. Rick had the floor dismantled and replaced - better than it had been originally. The original installers had not staggered the planks — he did and the floors look better than ever. Rick and the men who did the work couldn't have been more professional while getting the job done!! So happy with the results that I would definitely hire Rick again for any future work needing to be done!"

"I purchased an Angie's List coupon for 4 hours of housecleaning for $79.00  I called and scheduled the cleaning a couple of weeks beforehand.  Two days before they were scheduled to arrive I got a call asking if they could come the next day instead of the day after.  I wasn't going to be home so I said no.  The second time we scheduled I spent a day preparing my house for the cleaning, got my 3 cats rounded up so they would be out of the way (not an easy task) and they didn't show up at all - no call, nothing.  I had to contact them to find out what had happened. After a few days they finally got back to me and said the person who did the scheduling was sick so there was "confusion".  At this point I was ready to ask for my money back, but I decided I should give them one more chance.  I specifically asked for an afternoon but I got a message saying they were coming on the 19th at 9:30 AM - I decided I'd better re-arrange my schedule so they could come in the morning in spite of the inconvenience because I figured this was a last chance and I really needed to get my house cleaned.  The cleaning itself was fine - 3 women arrived and cleaned for 1 hour and 20 minutes (equaling 4 hours in all).  They did a nice job, not perfect, but good enough, and they did some nice extra touches which I appreciated like cleaning the inside of the microwave and washing the inside kitchen windows which are almost floor to ceiling.  If it hadn't been for the difficulty in scheduling a time I would definitely hire them again, but the scheduling was such a disaster I will not consider it.

"I really wanted to appreciate what the 3 very sweet and friendly ladies accomplished, but the "deep cleaning" that I was hoping for did not take place. After they left, I noticed: -hair and dirt on the hardwood floor -dust and grime on the baseboards -babyfood on the wall behind the high chairs -pieces of dirt and hair on the baby mat -old dirt and formula residue behind the cribs in the nursery -built up dust on the wires next to the television -stovetop was still stained with grease - no attention paid to windows -general dirt build up in corners of rooms"

"When I called Masters Carpet Care I got an appointment right away along with an explanation of what they would do. They were friendly, professional, and respectful. They cleaned my stairs and floor carpeting which was pet stained. The amount of dirt they removed was shocking. The price was absolutely reasonable and I definitely plan on using them again. I highly recommend Masters Carpet Care!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Depending on flooring type and condition, costs range from $0.25 to $2 per square foot.

After carpet removal, prepare for new flooring by assessing the subfloor. You will want to address any imperfections to create a smooth and level base for installation. Remember, proper subfloor preparation is crucial for optimal new flooring results. Consider repairing and replacing damaged areas for a stable foundation. For both wood and concrete subfloors, consider sanding to remove any debris or adhesives remaining thoroughly.

Besides feeling icky grit when walking barefoot in your home, not mopping the floors can create health risks. Pollen, dirt, dust, and overall filth lead to allergen, bacteria, and even mold buildup, polluting your home and creating an unhygienic environment. You also risk damaging the floors due to stains and scratches with neglect. Lastly, your home will become less inviting due to odors from the lack of cleaning.

Yes, you can polish an existing concrete floor—as long as the slab is structurally sound and in good shape. In fact, that’s what makes this type of flooring upgrade so appealing. Polishing works best on bare concrete with minimal surface damage, although you can usually repair cracks and stains before the grinding and buffing begins. Instead of ripping out your existing concrete floor, polishing it can turn it into a high-shine showpiece that’s both practical and sleek.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.
