"The place looks great!  It's absolutely beautiful.  Bill & Jay do top quality work and a reasonable price.  The patch job was phenomenal and there was zero dust in the house after all that sanding.  Zero.  Very impressive.   And talk about punctual, they finished the job more than a week before they had originally said they would!  We could not be more pleased with our new floor!

"Based on the information I provided via text messages, Julia quoted me a price that seemed very fair. We arranged a date for the cleaning, and Julia and her assistant arrived just as promised. We toured the house and I explained what I hoped to accomplish, and they started in. I think the house was bigger than she expected, and I asked for a couple of extras if possible; the work took over an hour longer than Juliana anticipated. They did a terrific, thorough job. When finished, I asked what I owed her and she gave me the same number she had quoted. I paid her more (well deserved), but her maintaining that price indicates integrity that she's willing to sacrifice to maintain. Just superb; I strongly recommend Juliana's Cleaning."

"Over a year ago I found Maria's Cleaning here on Angie's List. After reading the reviews I made an appointment with her to come to my home to review our needs. This not my first experience and I have had larger more well known cleaners who did not do the job as well as Maria's. I am very particular about the cleanliness of my home so I am happy to have founded Maria."

"I really wanted to appreciate what the 3 very sweet and friendly ladies accomplished, but the "deep cleaning" that I was hoping for did not take place. After they left, I noticed: -hair and dirt on the hardwood floor -dust and grime on the baseboards -babyfood on the wall behind the high chairs -pieces of dirt and hair on the baby mat -old dirt and formula residue behind the cribs in the nursery -built up dust on the wires next to the television -stovetop was still stained with grease - no attention paid to windows -general dirt build up in corners of rooms"

"Jacqueline was AMAZING. I originally got an Angie’s List deal from another company and had them come in to do a cleaning, and I thought they did an ok job. However, I when I booked them I told them I’d want them to come back weekly until the house sold...getting them to respond and schedule the next week was a nightmare, so I gave up. The experience with Jackie of TopLine has been the complete opposite end of the spectrum. From the initial contact with Angie’s List, through to her helping me clean after moving out, she been amazing. I think I initially emailed her through Angie’s List on a Sunday, and she emailed me right back. We talked on the phone so I could tell her exactly what I needed, and she stopped by later that day to see my house and give me a free quote. We scheduled her to come for the first cleaning that week, and she did a phenomenal job — she cleaned stuff the other cleaners missed, which I didn’t catch until I saw her doing it. After that, she came weekly until my house sold. She even came back the night the movers took everything out of the house and cleaned the floors, cabinets, etc. The house looked spotless and my real estate agent was so impressed, she scheduled her to do work for her other clients. I highly recommend Jackie and TopLine!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Regular vacuuming, deep cleaning, and prompt stain removal help maintain appearance and durability.

Using too much soap or floor cleaner can leave your laminate floors looking dirty or cloudy after mopping. Only use a teaspoon of soap or cleaning solution in a gallon of water. Additionally, always be sure to sweep or vacuum laminate floors before mopping to ensure you pick up dried grit, hair, and dust that can be harder to catch with a wet mop.

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.

The answer to this question depends on how large the room is and how much experience you have stripping and waxing floors. It will take at least 24 hours to strip the floors, then you must allow time for drying, waxing, waiting for them to cure, and, finally, buffing them. Since you likely will not be working for the full 24 hours, it is safe to say that this is a two- or three-day job.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.
