"The S&S team did a great job updating the plumbing in my laundry closet. Our original plumbing was corroding and coming out the floor in the closet, taking up space that didn't allow us to fit a washer all the way inside. The team was able to rip out the old plumbing, install new piping behind the wall and a recessed coupling box in the wall. The price was very reasonable compared to 3 other quotes I did, I would use them again for future work. Thank You!"

"My grandson flushed his little yellow bus down the toilet Friday afternoon. I called several plumbers in the area. By late Saturday afternoon I had only 1 returned call saying they could come out Monday morning. A friend suggested I call Gentille Plumbing and Heating. I called them and they said they could come early Sunday morning. Ryan arrived promptly as promise and quickly determine how to approach the issue and retrieved the little yellow bus. Cleanup was quick and pricing fair. Ryan was professional , friendly and was on his way within 45 minutes of arrival. Thank You Gentille Plumbing and Heating"

"This man came out in the evening, after I worked all day and had no problem helping me out. He was kind, courteous, and very up front. He not only fixed the issue, he gave me pointers on making sure it doesn’t come back. Please, give him a call if you need a plumber. He will not disappoint you!"

Customers say: Quality work

"I began installing a replacement dishwasher in our 59-year-old house and ran into a hot water line connection incompatibility problem. Jim quickly and efficiently resolved that problem and also pointed out and corrected a couple of other problems that would probably have jeopardized the installation. I have engaged a number of plumbers over the years but can think of none who were more pleasant to deal with than Jim Trudo. I will most certainly call him for any future problems and can unequivocally recommend him to anyone looking for a quality job at a reasonable price."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Protect your family during plumbing by asking contractors to identify and document any lead components, especially in homes built before 1986. Locate your main water shut-off valve in advance to minimize emergency exposure during leaks. For homes with irrigation systems, install proper backflow prevention devices to keep lawn chemicals out of your drinking water. Schedule extensive work during MA school breaks to reduce disruptions for children at home.

Helpful?

Schedule plumbing assessments immediately if you notice seasonal sewer odors, which indicate shifting underground laterals. Inspect exposed pipes for micro-cracks after harsh winter freeze-thaw cycles. Unexplained household water pressure drops point to failing pressure valves or supply line restrictions. In older Wellesley homes, replace aging galvanized steel and cast iron pipes before starting major renovations. Finding failing pipes after opening walls causes severe project delays and permit holds.

Helpful?

Subsurface ledge rock in hillside neighborhoods makes trenching for plumbing difficult and requires specialized equipment. Historic properties feature outdated cast iron stacks and galvanized lines that demand substantial modifications to meet current MA codes. High water tables near local ponds complicate below-grade excavation. Additionally, homes utilizing multi-zone hydronic heating systems require careful coordination between mechanical and piping contractors to ensure safe, compliant upgrades.

Helpful?

When hiring a local professional for plumbing, ensure they pull the required permits themselves, as state law prohibits homeowners from doing this. Your contractor must understand local inspection schedules to prevent delays. Because Wellesley features many older homes, hire someone experienced with historic cast iron and galvanized pipes. They must also understand how local treated surface water interacts with aging infrastructure to select the best replacement materials.

Helpful?

Bundling plumbing with other upgrades improves project efficiency. Combine bathroom remodels with electrical or HVAC work to streamline local permit inspections. If you are replacing a sewer lateral damaged by tree roots, coordinate this with landscaping projects to minimize yard disruption. In Wellesley neighborhoods with high water tables, pair basement finishing with interior drain and sump pump installations. Schedule these indoor renovations during the slower winter months for better contractor availability.
