The owner Chris Lane is clearly deranged. When they damaged my tub, he made up a BS story about the tub being from the 1970s and they didn't damage it. The tub was undamaged before they worked on that exact spot, and the tub is actually only 6 years old because the bathroom was remodeled since the home was built in the 1970s. It was in "like new" condition with zero damage. Additionally, when I posted an online review mentioning another employee in the company, his daughter, he sent multiple emails and multiple voicemails to me and my wife to remove her name. This is harassment, and I have ample proof of all these communications. He claimed I was harassing him because I wanted to be compensated for their screw up. Give me a break! This guy is a scumbag, and has obvious anger issues - stay away.

Excellent service provided by Kerivan Lane. Installed new laundry room faucet - works well and looks great. We've used this company for over 10 years for many plumbing service/repairs and always satisfied with quality of their work. Staff is pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable and jobs are easy to schedule.

This model of water heater been recommended by Kerivan-Lane and installed by them, but after just five years it failed. I was told it was under warranty but there would still be a substantial charge. I expressed displeasure, and said if a product they recommend proves faulty they should take responsibility, but it was January, I had no hot water, and my basement was flooded, so I agreed under duress to pay. I asked the plumber who removed the tank to check the anode rod to see if the tank leaked due to rust. He said he did not have the proper wrench with him but would remove it at the shop and call me. He did not. When I reached him a few days later he said he had not checked the anode rod and the tank had already been disposed of. I have used this company for plumbing services now for a number of years and have only given them excellent reviews. I suppose I will continue to call them for minor plumbing tasks, but based on this experience I can't recommend them for major appliances.

Used KL 10 years ago to convert an ancient boiler to natural gas. They were excellent then. This year, we had an issue with one of the radiators not heating, despite multiple bleeds of the radiator. We called in Feb, they said to call back for June as they had to shut the system off. Just tried to get them to come (it's June as I write this) and they said, well, call in Sept! Clearly not good customer service at the very least, and at worst, they no longer know what is needed/best for heating system assessment and repair. Disappointing!

We've had them for several weeks now - including through sub-6-degree days, and they've performed very well; we've been warm and comfortable. Keith at Kerivan-Lane was patient and helpful while I took months to decide between not just them and competitors, but between ducted vs ductless. They worked up three different options/quotes for me at my request. Keith texted, e-mailed, and talked with me on the phone to hear all my concerns, give advice, and brainstorm solutions. Our main installer was Phil, who really impressed us with his openness and creativity in putting the indoor units where we barely dared hope. In particular, we were able to put the indoor units out of sight when you enter all seven rooms that have them. The units are about as quiet a we expected/hoped (and much better than electric baseboard). The programmability of them leave something to be desired, but at this efficiency versus baseboard electric we'll mostly set it and forget it. Kerivan-Lane was significantly cheaper than alternatives we considered, who were proposing Mitsubishi equipment. Net of MassSave rebates, we'll pay about $23,000 verses the nearest competitor quote of $29,400. Lastly, everyone was diligent about wearing masks, especially in our home, given the pandemic. I'd highly recommend Kerivan-Lane, I'd highly recommend cold-climate heat pumps like Fujitsu's Halcyon series which work well as the primary source of heat down to very cold temperatures (-5, they say; we've tested to below 6 so far), and I'd say to anyone wondering about minisplits vs installing ducting, that minisplit indoor units can be positioned strategically for aesthetics and that they perform very well.

What started out as a good relationship has unfortunately soured over the last ten years. Kerivan-Lane's customer service is slipping and has been for the last 2+ years. They used to proactively call customers to schedule the boiler tune-up that the customer paid for, but they stopped doing so a couple of years ago. Now you wait over two months to get a tune-up scheduled, and you have to call or go online to do it. Last year, the technician showed up almost an hour after the 4 hour window closed, and seemed surprised when we had to turn him away because we had to leave. Had to then reschedule but at least the owners of the company were quick with the reschedule. On average, you'll pay .50-1.00 more per gallon of oil than with many other heating oil suppliers. I tolerated that considering the once great customer service, but it's not worth the premium any more.

Working with Kerivan-Lane was the worst experience I have endured in both my professional, and personal-renovation career. Unequivocally. We sought out a company who would be able to manage multiple contracts ($18,000+) and work with us to navigate the Mass Save and CEC Rebates Programs. We were sold items that didn't meet code. Installation elements did not meet code and did not meet Mass Save standards. The paper work provided was rejected by Mass Save and we had to work with Mass Save to remedy. Kerivan-Lane’s internal corporate communications among departments was disorganized leading to all execution being a significant and time-consuming hassle from sales, to contracts, to installation, to billing, to customer management. Angie's List will contact me to back-up these claims with paperwork/evidence (before they post this review) which I will support. I have used Angie's list for several contractors through the years. We go through the cycle to pick 5, hear back from and meet 3, and then choose the one to work with. I wish I had been aware of the above issues before I wasted time and energy with Kerivan-Lane. One caveat is that some of their technicians did good quality work and were really nice. I have found that there are a lot of great technicians that take pride in their work out there without having to support a company that is disorganized, unprofessional, and rude.

Kerivan-Lane helped us navigate the Mass Save program to convert from oil to gas and replace an ancient steam boiler and hot water heater. The first contractor we found was terrible and could not provide an estimate that satisfied the standards of the Mass Save loan program but we breezed through the approval process with Kerivan-Lane. We worked mostly with Mike who answered all our questions and helped us work with the gas company and town on the gas line installation and required inspection. It was a big residential job and I'd definitely recommend to others.

We initially had contacted a different company for getting our propane tank installed and as unprofessional it can be the company bailed out in the middle of installations leaving us completely helpless. Afterwhich, we researched about Kerivan Lane and thank goodness, we got in touch with Mr Christipher who was our propane advisor. He is such a gem to work with, our savior and hero. I say that because he quickly recognized the sensitivity of the situation that we have been living without hot water and cooking gas with a baby in tow, for about a weeks time after the initial company left us. He dived right in to get things corrected and went out of his way to get this done on priority, contacted the fire department for inspection, was always present before the plumbing inspection and the fire department inspection was scheduled. He is such a thorough gentleman and person who can be trusted for moving things fast and running. His vast domain knowledge helped us pass the inspection effortlessly. I would highly highly recommend Kerivan Lane because of our positive experience with Mr. Chris and his crew. We got lucky and I feel more than positive that we are in good hands for our propane gas. Incredibly Kevin and Jose were extremely professional. Got the job done in a day. Very personable cleaned up and Kevin went as far as to remove his boots while inside because of our carpet. I’d highly recommend them for any of your a/c needs ?

I can’t emphasize enough how happy I am with the work performed by Chris and his team. They delivered a GREAT finished product on a truncated timeline, and at a palatable price. Very responsive to my emails/calls throughout the process. Plumber Tom Maher arrived on time and was able to make repairs to a shower valve and outside water spigot. Tom was friendly and patient with on lookers. Explained what he was doing and why. I would definitely use Kerivan Lane's Plumbing services again.

Had a leaky pipe and the Kerrivan Lane emergency plumber actually led me through what ended being a simple solution to a troubling leaky pipe over the phone. What I'm crediting him—and his organization—with here is honesty and ethics. They could have very easily come to my house at time-and-a-half and tightened a leaky bolt. But he didn't. I sent him photos, and he carefully and patiently walked me through a solution. Couldn't be more thankful and would certainly trust them for more jobs in the future.

I had a very complex project given the location of the propane tank and how complicated it was to get a range hood installed up to code to allow for the gas stove. Chris from Kerivan went above and beyond the scope of his job to help me find carpenters, hvac folks, and electricians in order to get it done. He spent months helping me coordinate before I ever paid him a done as his work has to be last, and the beat a very aggressive timetable when it was finally time for his guys to do their work. He had the project done before Easter so we could cook and host. He’s top notch and I would recommend to anyone.

We were installing a new gas fireplace in our home, Kerivan came in knowing exactly what had to be done. No disruption to your home, they go the job done. Ron was our specialist and was great. During the weekend our upstairs heat failed which was completely unrelated. We placed a service call on the weekend and within 20 minutes they called back with an individual who would be out to fix the problem. Again done in a timely fashion . We are o going ahead with a new water heater and will use Kerivan for tis service as well.

I've been a long time customer of Kerivan Lane of 7 years, and have never had a issue. but because of a recent issue and billing inquire. I feel i was burned by a long time friend, made less than a loyal customer. They also charge a much higher rate than their competitors for a gallon of oil. I will not be recommending their services to friends and family anymore.

The folks at Kerivan Lane were careful and efficient in getting the projects done, they coordinated with town inspection, and full replacement was completed in a week (for furnace) and matter of day or two for hot water (both projects they took care to stage so that we were only without heat for day or so and hot water for an afternoon). Would absolutely recommend them to anyone making the conversion. Also, really happy with the unlimited hot water!!! They also helped me fill out my Mass Save paperwork, and we were able to take advantage of significant rebates.
