Recent Siding Companies Reviews in Waltham

  • Diamond Construction Inc
We had our decks demolished and rebuilt by another contractor earlier this Summer. Said contractor, in the process, removed significant portions of our vinyl siding and was not able/willing to replace them. I reached out to numerous Boston-area vinyl siding contractors, only to have almost 100% of them tell me the "job was too small" for them to consider. I was becoming concerned that nobody would be willing to replace our siding when I found Diamond Construction. John came out to assess the project and our needs and spent time speaking with us about the scope/execution of the project. We made him aware of our budget, and he was sensitive and responsive to our financial limitations. The work was completed in a professional, workmanlike, timely manner. John and his staff (Erika and the crew) maintained great communication throughout the entire process from the before we even signed the contract all the way through the end of completion. We were extremely pleased with the results of the vinyl siding repair/replacement performed by Diamond and plan to use them again in the future to replace an old bay window in the front of our apartment, as well as our old sliding glass door in back, once our budget permits. We will also recommend Diamond Construction to friends and family. They are consummate professionals who value their relationships with customers and go above and beyond to ensure projects are completed to customers' satisfaction. Thank you

  • Beantown Home Improvements, Inc.
Beantown replaced siding on 3 out of 4 sides of my house with Hardie fiber cement plank boards; they tore down an old deck and built a new one in its place; and they removed and replaced a sliding patio door. Very professional company that uses high quality materials and left me feeling confident that they would do the job better than many alternatives. Jim, the owner, was there to answer my many questions from the quote phase all the way through to completion and even afterward. His responsiveness is exceptional and appreciated. The crew was punctual and incredibly fast - I couldn't believe they took down my old siding and installed new siding in 3 days. Amazing. My house and new deck look awesome. I appreciate the whole company's professionalism, helpfulness, and friendliness. They registered my products and sent my warranties promptly, and they also gave me some good tips and pointers that made me feel more knowledgeable about my home and new deck/siding. Price-wise, I would say they are higher than average, but it's more important to me that the work on my home is done right, not done cheaply, and that the contractor is honest, which is why I went with Beantown for this project. I wasn't disappointed and would hire them again, but I did have to forego some additional deck work that I had hoped to have done because it was starting to go beyond my budget. Jim was open that the cost of decking at the time of our project was more expensive than usual, so I appreciate his candor. In terms of honesty and professionalism, Beantown is the best contractor I've ever worked with. If I were to offer any suggestions for improvement, it would be that some of the detail work on the siding (i.e. a noticeably rough cut on a siding plank in one spot above a small roof) and post-siding cleanup could have been more thorough. I'm still finding nails around my house, and that's to be expected, but there were also nails and debris left on my roofs. Not a huge deal, but for the cost, I would have appreciated more attention to those kind of details, especially when it's hard for me to clean up on my own. I also did not realize that the siding work was going to cause as much intense vibration as it did, and I did have a potted plant fall off of a shelf and shatter, so it would have been nice to have that head's up. Now I know for next time. Overall, Beantown is a trustworthy, punctual, professional contractor that does high quality work. I would hire them again for future projects

  • Beantown Home Improvements, Inc.
I recently had Beantown complete a significant siding upgrade on my house and large detached garage. From the very beginning Beantown made it incredibly easy to pick a product and a color that we'd love for years to come. Understanding the current issues with supply chain, Beantown communicated well so we knew when our work would be completed. When it came time to do the install, the crew that worked my project were simply artists. To say I am pleased with the outcome of my siding project is an understatement. I specifically want to call out the work they did around my AC/mini-split connections that just made the install on the side of the house look even more impressive. I would absolutely recommend Beantown to anyone interested in the services they offer, and I plan to use them again for future projects

  • RJ Scalzi & Sons
You may be reading this because hiring contractors to do work you know little about is a bit anxiety provoking and can result in some unpleasant results. Even though I have a background in engineering and construction, I moved forward with vinyl siding my home with some trepidation. My wife and I did some research and through a friend’s recommendation hired RJ Scalzi and Sons. The work scope included replacing fascia boards, rake boards, gutters, shutters and downspouts and installing vinyl siding. Jason and Matt showed up on time, and it very soon became clear that they were extremely skilled at their craft. Through every step of the project, they took measures to minimize inconveniencing us, including location of work vehicles and work benches, preventing damage to lawn, shrubs and trees, securing artwork on walls and shelves to prevent damage, communicating updates on schedule and timelines and maintaining a neat work area. Not only did it appear that Jason and Matt were talented, but it was also obvious that they have honed an extremely efficient team that executes work safely, quickly and with the highest quality. Two minor unexpected and out of work scope problems arose during the project that instead of dropping on my lap, as they rightfully could have, they took action and got resolved. Over the days Jason and Matt worked on our home, we were constantly impressed with the quality and efficiency of their work. A major plus was the professional, considerate and friendly demeanor both young men exhibited throughout the project. We enjoyed listening to their good natured banter, that didn’t slow them down one bit, and interacting with them. The completed project looks great and met all of our requirements, a neighbor even stopped by and asked for an estimate. Jason and Matt’s ability to combine high quality efficient work with very winning personal ways made the vinyl siding of our house a great experience and this may sound strange, but it was fun to have them around. We highly recommend RJ Scalzi and Sons for all vinyl siding work at your home, so don’t get stressed -- call Scalzi

Average cost of siding a property

Be prepared to pay anything ranging from $2,900 to $44,000 for a property siding project. That’s a huge range because so many considerations play a role in settling on the cost of any property siding installation work.

Size plays a large role when it comes to the cost of siding a property. The greater your house’s outdoor surface area—or the larger the measurements of the part to have siding installed—the more materials and time the project requires, which causes the cost to go up.

Additionally, the type of siding material plays a role in overall price. Basic siding made of vinyl is the least expensive and averages $2 to $3 per square foot. Siding made from aluminum prices are close, averaging $3 to $4 per square foot.

Stone and brick veneer are among the most expensive materials. For the latter, you’ll pay, on average, $3 to $10 per square foot, and the former costs $8 to $11 per square foot.

Additional work needed to put up siding influences the cost of your job, too. If the siding contractor has to fix or replace rotting boards or other infrastructure first, the prices tend to rise.

Sometimes, siding costs are complicated. Talking to a pro in your area—or multiple professionals—to get quotes on your project is the right way to understand how much siding for your home could cost.

Consider these things when looking for a siding company

Hiring a community business to make changes to your property involves a large amount of faith. Make sure you contract the best siding company for your job by going over the elements below as you narrow down your available choices.

Start by making sure possible contractors have the right paperwork for your project. The rules are different in every state and may vary by location, so contact your local licensing board if you have any concerns.

Move on to asking about insurance. Always employ contractors who hold insurance coverage for their company and employees. It safeguards both you and them if anything occurs while completing your project..

Get as much information as you can about the siding business’s assistance. It’s best to hire siding companies that have training in your type of job. Review online galleries of completed jobs or photo galleries on the business’s web page to see what kinds of jobs the business engages in. You can also request testimonials from neighbors and friends.

Lastly, make sure you get everything in writing and scan all the fine print before signing a contract. Ask questions if you don’t comprehend the information, and beware of businesses that seem hesitant to put things in a contract.
