"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

We have been around since 1923 as a family-owned company and have survived and grown through Great and not so great depressions. We have always prided ourselves on being a truly service-oriented company, not just about an expansive 25,000 square foot display or even the sales expertise of highly trained salespeople. Service is not even about a low-pressure environment, where clients can choose between every major brand without the hassle or be protected by the industry's best price guarantee. It's quite simply actual service. Delivery and product service are the largest departments within Yale at 65 people and 25 vehicles. It is our commitment to you to deliver properly without damage and fix problem products quickly. Buying an appliance, lights, and plumbing at Yale is about sales and especially the service experience. We are now open on RTE 9 in Framingham, just past the Natick Mall at 215 Worcester Rd and in Hanover, on RT 53 at 548 Washington St. The Hanover, Framingham, and Boston/Dorchester locations proudly offer appliance sales, installation, and repair. Additional contact name - Steven Sheinkopf 617-822-6150

"I have bought appliances from Yale for 3 different houses over the past 15 years. Most recently bought over $65k worth of appliances because I had good experiences before. This time, one of the appliances - a Yale-branded icemaker - was broken out of the box at delivery. Asked to have it replaced, they said no - I had accepted delivery so they would have to repair it. They scheduled an appointment to do so, then canceled it because part was not available, and replaced with an appointment scheduled a month later (which they scheduled without asking if it worked.) I sat and waited, technician came and said part wasn't available, he knew he wasn't going to be able to fix it, but came anyway because there was an appointment. Looked over the unit, told me his supervisor would call that afternoon, and he left. No call. I called back the following Monday, and spoke to 2 different who said they weren't able to help, but a supervisor would call. When he did, he said they had no part for it, no eta for the part to be delivered, and had no units in stock to replace it, but that even if they did that wasn't covered by the warranty so too bad. No apology for the wasted appointment, and in a very dishonest way tried to say that the first appointment is always diagnostic, even though it was specifically rescheduled by them because part was backordered. Said that they deserved the opportunity to fix it instead of replace it, and when I told them they'd more than had that opportunity over a period of months, including the appointment they'd just had, he got upset and said a number of things that were offensive and that there was no path forward for resolution."

2008 years of experience

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Terrible company. Possibly a scam. They attempted to sell me a part they didn't even have, and after waiting patiently for OVER A MONTH, I canceled my order. When calling them to confirm, they told me they never had the part to sell to me. What a joke!"

Bellingham Electric is a family-owned discount appliance store based in Bellingham, MA. Since 1953, Bellingham Electric has served customers in Bellingham, Woonsocket, Franklin, Milford, Cumberland, North Smithfield, Blackstone, Wrenthem, Mendon and Burrillville with low prices on home appliances and top notch customer service.

"REMARKABLE SERVICE!! Prior to calling Bellingham Electric, I was frankly under the impression that it was impossible to get courteous, quality service for appliance repair-- at an affordable price --in today's world. When a part broke off from the upper rack of my dishwasher a few months ago, I delayed making a call because I thought that the cost would be prohibitive, and that I would have to buy a new dishwasher. So, I continued to try and use it. Sometimes, I could push the rack in and get the cycle to run, but at other times, I simply could not get the rack back in place, and the door would not close. I washed a lot of dishes by hand! Finally, after about 6 weeks, I simply could not close the door at all, and I began to make calls about replacing the dishwasher. Sticker shock! On the recommendation of a neighbor, I then called Bellingham Electric, and was astounded to learn that Jim, in the repair department, has such extensive knowledge of appliances that he can often reach an accurate conclusion about the source of the problem after a phone conversation. Sure enough, Jim was able to determine the source of the problem, order the part, and get a technician (Steve) out to do the dishwasher repair within the week. What a relief! A couple of weeks ago, I had the unfortunate experience of another major appliance issue. My refrigerator had suddenly developed a very loud noise, apparently due to a malfunctioning fan. Once again, I spoke with Jim in the repair department. Jim had a pretty good idea about the likely source of the problem, and I was amazed at the amount of time that he spent discussing the issue with me. He didn't rush me or cut me off during the conversation, but was truly eager to find the solution to the problem. He did warn me that, based on my description, it was quite possible that there was more than one part malfunctioning. On the first visit, the technician (Steve again) did indeed discover a second problem, arranged to order the second part, and then scheduled another visit within the week. Once again, it was a great relief to have the problem solved in such an efficient manner. I have to say that --in a world where civility is often lacking, where one may have to spend an hour or more on the phone just to speak with a live person, and where it is quite possible to pay hundreds of dollars for a job poorly done--it is very heartening to find that a local company provides such courteous and efficient service. The people at Bellingham Electric helped to significantly reduce the stress of dealing with these malfunctioning appliances, as well as my anxiety about what type of people would be coming to my home to provide service. They are very polite and honest. I call this good, old-fashioned service, with a capital S."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

Ovens are measured by the width, height, and depth of the overall oven (typically in inches). You’ll want to measure the oven not only for the final space it’ll be installed in but also to make sure all the openings in your home to get to your kitchen can accommodate its size.

You should never plug a normal 120v appliance into a special 240v outlet, as it can quickly burn out the appliance. This will cause irreparable damage to the appliance and, in worse case scenarios, cause damage to your circuit breaker. Check your appliance’s rating before plugging it into a 220v outlet to avoid electrical disaster.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

You can disable a fridge door alarm on most modern models by pressing and holding the door alarm button for three seconds. The door alarm button is located on the control panel, which is usually on the face of the door if you have a digital display or just inside one of the doors on the body of the fridge. But keep in mind that the door alarm is a helpful feature that can identify refrigerator problems and reduce your running costs, so it’s best to leave it on.

In some cases, yes, portable air conditioners are worth buying. They’re a relatively affordable option for cooling small spaces. (On average, they cost between $100 and $500 per unit.) Plus, they’re easy to set up, and you can move them around to cool various parts of your home as needed. However, they aren’t the most efficient AC option, and they tend to be noisy.
