"I had a branch that had fallen from a tree and was suspended from another branch. Because it was a small job I was concerned it might be difficult to get someone to bid on it. After contacting CG Arborist Services by email, I got a call from Chris within 12 hours. He was in the area gave me a quote which I accepted and he was able to fit me in the same day. Chris was professional, did the work as promised, and cleaned everything that came out of the tree as well as the fall leaves that were on the ground near the tree. The service was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend him even if you have a small job to be done."

"Mike Thomas, the owner/operator responded to my call promptly. He came to my home within a few days and presented me with a written statement of cost on completion. My neighbors and I were able to schedule the stump grinding within a short period of time that fit our schedule. The work was completed as described in the work order. Mike arrived on time and completed the job in a neat and orderly fashion. I would recommend him to anyone including family and friends."

"I initially hired Wullian because of his fair pricing. I am very considerate of my customers costs, as a contractor myself so I was refreshed with earthly pricing for a change. While the work was a bit out of my capacities, he worked with me to keep the price down allowing me to do what I could. Not many companies are this flexible so I was extremely grateful. The team did exactly what I wanted and were considerate during the process. After 18 years, a tree over the house and another tree that caused countless nights of sleep loss finally were down. Soo happy, I invited him back and the service if possible, was even better. As soon as the opportunity arose, I called him a third time and got whatâ s hard to imagine that point again even Better service. This rarely is the case, usually contractors make the effort only initially to get foot in door. Dexte Tree Service if fully capable of any job size, I hope I have more opportunities to have them help on future jobs, but in the meantime after almost 20 years, Iâ m finally going to have a really nice yard because of them. Thank you Randy G. Evergreen Rd, Avon"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

For Springfield’s climate, select hardy trees such as sugar maple or disease-resistant elm, and use mulch, compost, and lime to improve soil health. Equip yourself with sharp pruning tools, pole saws, and tree wrap to protect against winter injury. Anti-desiccant sprays help evergreens, while slow-release fertilizer supports growth. Address local threats like borers by using pest barriers and monitoring for early signs of infestation.

Helpful?

In Springfield, a strong tree care routine means inspecting for ice damage and salt stress in winter, checking for fungal issues and new growth in spring, monitoring for drought and pests like gypsy moths in summer, and clearing debris and weak branches in fall. Document changes, keep trees mulched and watered, and schedule major tree trimming or removal during dormant months for best results.

Helpful?

When hiring a tree service professional in Springfield, prioritize those with experience in local tree species and knowledge of common regional issues like storm damage and Dutch elm disease. Ensure they carry proper insurance, provide written estimates, and follow strict safety protocols. Ask for references from Springfield homeowners and confirm they never request full payment upfront. Local referrals from neighbors or nurseries can help you find reliable arborist services.

Helpful?

Completing tree service projects in Springfield can significantly enhance your home’s value and curb appeal. Healthy, well-maintained trees provide shade, energy savings, and are especially attractive in established neighborhoods. Regular tree trimming, disease management, and strategic planting protect your investment. Keeping records of professional tree care and showcasing seasonal beauty can make your property more appealing to potential buyers and improve resale prospects.

Helpful?

In Springfield, MA’s four-season climate, tree service projects are shaped by weather extremes. Winter ice and snow often cause limb breakage, requiring prompt tree removal or trimming. Spring’s wet conditions are ideal for planting but can promote fungal diseases like anthracnose. Summer storms and heat stress increase the need for emergency tree care, while fall windstorms make seasonal pruning and health assessments essential for long-term tree health.
