"We used Bob’s handyman services for the first time last week. We chose him based on his glowing Angi reviews, and they did not exaggerate. He responded very quickly to my original request for information regarding his availability and fee. We had a few communications back and forth before scheduling a date. He arrived on time, set up a folding table with his tools, and went to work. We gave him a list of small jobs that had grown over the years. They included caulking around the kitchen counter and bath tub, fixing a fallen shelf, replacing hinges on a door, installing new smoke detectors and a door lock, and fixing a wonky storm door. He even replaced light bulbs in some hard-to-reach ceiling light fixtures. Though most of the projects were relatively small, he was meticulous in doing them and cleaning up after himself. And in talking to him about other projects he’s done, I have every confidence in using him for larger projects, which we intend to do. He was very professional, courteous, and I learned quite a bit just from talking with him. We are so happy to finally have these projects done and we already have a list for “round 2.”"

"Mo was great! He responded quickly and was a fair price. I had 4 projects for him to do and he took care of all of the projects quickly and efficiently in 1 day. I would recommend and use him again for more projects to get done around the property. Thank you!"

Small jobs welcome

"Frank has been super to work with. He is highly responsive from quote to finish, shows up when he says he will, and provides superior craftsmanship. He replaced a bulkhead door, an interior door between the basement and bulkhead, and an exterior storm door, all with odd shapes and sizes in a 19th century colonial that required a little ingenuity and a couple of trips to the hardware store. He's also quick to offer suggestions on other things he can help with: not in a pushy way, just pointing out the kinds of services he would be able to provide in other areas of carpentry and masonry. Thanks Frank!"

Caulking Services FAQs, answered by experts

For a smooth handyman project in Quincy, start by confirming if your work requires city permits, especially for plumbing or electrical updates. Plan outdoor projects for late spring or early fall to avoid Nor’easter disruptions. Check your contractor’s insurance, and order materials early from local suppliers to prevent delays. Clear communication and a written project timeline help keep things on track.

Helpful?

Quincy homeowners should keep a toolkit with screwdrivers, hammers, a power drill, level, and safety gear. For the coastal climate, stock dehumidifiers, marine-grade sealants, and rust-resistant fasteners to combat moisture and salt air. In winter, have pipe insulation and weather stripping ready. Sourcing supplies from local hardware stores ensures you’re prepared for common issues unique to Quincy homes.

Helpful?

To build an effective seasonal inspection routine in Quincy, begin spring by checking for roof or siding damage and ensuring gutters are clear. Summer is ideal for painting and deck repairs. In fall, focus on sealing gaps and prepping pipes for cold snaps. Winter calls for monitoring ice dams and indoor humidity. Tailor your routine to Quincy’s coastal weather and your home’s age or construction style.

Helpful?

In Quincy, signs that previous handyman work needs attention include peeling paint or caulk, which may result from salty coastal air. Watch for water stains, musty odors, or mold—these can signal moisture intrusion. Corroded pipes or fixtures, uneven floors, or outdated electrical outlets may also indicate that repairs or upgrades are needed to meet current standards and protect your home.

Helpful?

In Quincy, the time to complete a handyman service project varies by scope. Quick fixes like faucet swaps or drywall patches usually wrap up in 2-4 hours. Medium projects, such as deck repairs or storm door installations, often take 1-3 days. Larger jobs, like kitchen remodels, may last 2-6 weeks, especially if coastal weather or local permit reviews cause delays.
