"First, with this company you get to talk contact to a person and not a machine. Everyone is courteous and professional. I had a problem with my A/C and they came out quickly on a hot summer day and the technician stayed with it until the unit was completely fixed. They explained what had caused the problem and made recommendations to avoid issues in the future. They did a great job!"

"Talk about professionalism. Will came to review the project and provide an estimate. He explained what he saw upon inspecting my ductwork. He laid out a clear plan and cost estimate The company called the next day, stated that the materials were available and proposed a work date. The time they said they would be there is when they actually showed up. No massive 4-6 hour window waiting on them. They had the materials and with little discussion began the work. I am impressed with both technicians work ethic. I will state that I had called other companies and never received a call back. I do not know why since I was just asking for an estimate to repair ductwork. It was nice to finally work with a company that responded to your request and completed the job as requested. I would definitely work with this company again. They also provide other services besides ductwork."

"Dr. Electric Maury and his professional team completely wired an entire house, installed plugs, circuits, fans, lights, fire alarms, and a new electrical panel. They did the complete electrical system for a house I was renovating for renting. Furthermore, they did such an exceptional job, we hired his team to complete the entire electrical job to finish our basement. They did all of the plugs, light fixtures, fans, wiring, and intstalled a 220 for our jacuzzi in the backyard. On a scale of 1-10 and 10 being the highest, I rate them a 15. They are awesome, cordial, punctual, professional, fast, and try their absolute best to complete the job in the most affordable way that is beneficial to the consumer. In other words they price and quote the job accurately and bless you with several discount options. They will be the first company I call for all of my electrical needs."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

When faced with HVAC issues, it's best to begin by ensuring the thermostat settings are correct for either heating or cooling. If the system isn't responding, check the thermostat for proper function and power supply. It's also important to examine air filters, as clogged ones can decrease performance. Confirm the power supply to the system by checking the circuit breakers and fuses. If these basic steps fail to resolve the issue, contact an HVAC professional for a more detailed diagnosis and repair.

To diagnose a bad HVAC or AC damper, assess the airflow from your vents. For a manual damper, close it, run your system, and check for airflow. If air is still coming through the vents, the damper is likely faulty and needs repair or replacement. For an automatic damper, turn on your HVAC system and monitor the airflow and room temperature. Signs of a problem include low airflow, a room that won't maintain its set temperature, or a drafty feeling. If you suspect a faulty automatic damper, you may need to hire a professional for repairs.

A new HVAC system combines components to control indoor temperature and air quality. Features include a furnace or heat pump and an air conditioner or evaporator coil, depending on the climate requirements. It also involves a network of ductwork for air distribution, a thermostat for temperature regulation, and electrical connections. Air purifiers or humidifiers can be integrated to improve indoor air quality.

A calculation method that your HVAC contractor will use to ensure your system does what it's supposed to is measuring duct output, or its CFM. The calculation requires knowing the cross-sectional area of the ductwork and determining the air speed past any given point within it.

If possible, avoid placing furniture in front of a return air vent. A blocked air vent can cause your HVAC system to use more energy, which in turn can lower the life span of your unit and raise your energy bill. Furniture can also trap hot or cold air, damaging your furniture or appliances.

Professional duct installers suggest leaving between six and 12 inches of space in front of an air return vent. If you must place furniture in front of a return air vent, try to aim for putting furniture over a floor vent instead of in front of a wall vent, and avoid draping curtains over any vent system.
