"Rick was very professional and timely. He came out on the morning he said he would and replaced and repaired the posts as discussed during his initial estimate visit. He was in contact with us through the entire process. I would certainly recommend him to all of my family and friends. Great guy to work with!"

"This project turned out fabulous! Dylan fabricated the necessary pieces to repair a mower deck for us and when he was finished it looked as good as new. It's great working with someone that is not only knowledgeable but also trustworthy. I would highly recommend Metal Edge for any of your metal and fabricating needs!"

"Had him weld up a hitch for my vehicle-never had an issue with it. Saw him tig stainless and aluminum on a custom project I had for my yacht-came out beautifully. He seems very passionate about welding and is always willing to teach me about it and explain all of the methods.."

"We obtained DJ's number from a neighborhood fence that we really liked. He and his wife were very professional, provided us with a detailed estimate for a fence with multiple options (wrought iron, composite, wood). We decided to go with the wooden fence. His service was exemplary; the fence was put in, installed, and followed up on in a very timely manner. We loved the experience and we plan to use him for our future needs as well."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

You don't need gravel under metal fence posts, but it's always a good idea to add it in. Adding about six inches of gravel before you pour concrete will provide better water drainage, which can help to prolong the lifespan of your new fence and maximize its stability.

Metal fencing is one of the most expensive options and is certainly more expensive than vinyl and oftentimes, wood. Specialized electric fences and, in certain cases, concrete can be more expensive than metal, but wrought iron is one of the most expensive fencing options, which is why you see it most often on expensive estates and in affluent zip codes.

There are many types of fences available to homeowners, including wood, chain link, wire, concrete, brick, corrugated metal, and more. Some fences offer practical solutions for pets and wild animal deterrents, while others offer aesthetics that boost curb appeal. Consider what you’re looking for in a fence to help you decide which is best for your home.

Pictures of the area where you want your handrail installed should help get an accurate estimate. You should also let your professional know how accessible the installation location is, and whether or not there is a pre-existing railing to remove. Also, before contacting the pro, take some time to decide what type of wrought iron you are leaning toward.

Finally, have the overall length of your railing at the ready, so you can discuss prefabricated options versus custom-made options.

The price of purchasing and installing a fence around a pool is dependent on the type of fence material you choose. On average, a pool fence can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000+. Chain link and mesh fences are the least expensive options, while a fully glass fence will cost the most. Having an inground or above-ground pool will also be a key factor in determining fence prices.
