"[Member Name Removed], We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. We have already authorized a complete refund. The mistake occurred when you came to do the layout and we made changes to the template. Our policy on the terms and conditions states that changes should not be made after the template. When there is a question regarding the template or any measurement, we schedule a re template which we should have done. We take full responsibility for the mistake because we allowed a change with out retemplating. That is why we have given you a full refund! Cutting sinks are common! Many cabinets are 30 inches in width and most sinks are 31 inches(including the lips) especially larger cast iron sinks. Therefore, we cut the sink to make them fit the cabinet! We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so we would have don't anything and everything to satisfy you. You refused to let us fix any issues you may have had. I believe you lost faith in us, and that is why we offered and delivered a complete refund because we stand by our product. We wish you the best of luck with your remodel."
"We appreciate you for doing business with us and providing us feedback. We believe we are the best in the world at making great countertops. We love your bathroom! We would love to help you in any future projects!"
Wonderful job, specifically Mr. Kartik. He is good in knowledge about the granite material and customer friendly as well.
Then- Rocco and Phil will come to install the tops. THEY ARE AMAZINGLY GOOD at what they do. Phil is also an interior designer.
This company is genuine and worked with me and my very short timeline to finish the kitchen. They are extremely accommodating.
They did a good job creating templates, they were friendly at their showroom, and they did a good job on the installation.
Their prices were very competitive - best I could find.
We where in between homes and we had a pretty tight schedule. They told us they could meet our production schedule for our move week.
On Monday two men arrived. One was a older man and a young guy. I asked how long these guys had been doing this and one was 3 months and the other 4 months. This was not a real confidence builder. They laid out the templates for the counter tops.
They have you sign these for your approval. I had to stay on top of this process. The template needed some adjusting. I think the young guy would had let it go had I not insisted he adjust it in the back.
They gave us the templates' and we took them down to the yard to layout our project. This was great.
They older guy arrived on Thursday to do the install with a new employee.
The install went well. When they asked me to approve the install I noticed the back of the main counter was not flush to the wall. I asked about it and the older gentlemen who spoke very broken English insisted it was normal. I could stick my pinky between the wall and the counter. I insisted they adjust this. He then quickly went out and got the templates to try and show me I had signed off on this. This was just a matter of how you adjusted things. They finally made some adjustments and we got the gap to a acceptable space. We are planning to tile the back splash so a small gap would be ok. They are used to placing a piece of granite for a small back splash and I think it is normal for them to have larger gaps. They knew in the office what we where doing and I explained it to the men who built the template. They finished up and left. When I challenged them on the gaps they went to speaking in Spanish. I find this really offensive when I am in the conversation and everything is in English and suddenly when it is not going right you can't understand what is being said. Not a real great customer experience in my opinion.
Later that evening I was loading the dish washer and it would not open and close properly.
I had to take lower front of the dishwasher off and lower it just a small amount. When I did this it started to tilt out like it was falling. I knew it only needed 2 screws to go up into the metal plate that had been installed with the counters over the dishwasher opening.I picked up a few and none worked.
I called the office asking if they had a screw for this. They said they would drop some by. No offer to come out the next day and really fix the situation. They told me Friday no show on the screws. They finally brought some the next week. I installed the screws my self.
Here is my assessment of the experience with Granite America.
First
The stone looks Awesome! The price is great. They met a tight time line.
Second
You have to take out yourself the old counter tops. They do not do that or so I was told.
You have a language barrier with the guys in the field.
You have to manage the project some
You might have to do some small things like I did.
I was told they would haul away the old counter tops. When I asked the installers about it they played dumb like it was not normal. I saw piles of them in the yard when we picked our stone. They would have left them if I had not been on top of it.
If you are willing to manage things a little you will be pleased with the stone you get. I know there are other companies who have more field experience and field personal don't have language barriers but you pay nearly twice what these guys can do.
I paid $2300 for our kitchen and we are super pleased with the price and the quality of the finish on the stone. We got a great product for a great price. We will be having them back later this year to do some bathrooms when we remodel those.
Kelly in the office was great to work with. We also got a follow up call from a gentleman asking about how things went. Again the language barrier couldn't understand the name.
I gave them a B over all more for the field guys not he product, price or the office. The in home service is where it is at and this team needs to tighten up a bit. Again we would use these guys on future projects they just don't have the service experience locked down yet.
Removal of old countertop and sink is provided as optional service for additional $350. New kitchen sink, if bought with them then no extra charge for cutting out the granite, but if we buy our own sink then additional $100. We came to know about the additional charges only when we started going over the paper work.
It would have helped with our budget planning, if they had mentioned in the ad saying, "Additional charges for countertop removal and kitchen sink".
The installer did a good job and granite looks really nice. I would recommend them to a friend.
The next week 2 techs came to make the template. That went smoothly and only took about an hour. they did everything in a professional manor. The following week we went to the yard to approve our template. We could have had the granite installed the next week, but the installation was delayed because of a backordered sink. The delay was o.k. because we had other work being done at the same time. The installers were great. It took about 21/2 hours to complete. Everything cleaned up, old counter tops hauled away. All in all it was a good experience, with personalized service you don't get with other companys.
