Our inspector kept repeating to us over and over that the home we were looking to buy was a great and sturdy home! In fact, it is so good, that in the 6 months we have lived there, we have had to drop close to $9000 on home repairs from duct work/insulation issues, MAJOR circuitry issues, roof issues, and foundation issues! :) I understand that inspectors are not experts in all aspects of the home, but every single expert we have had come in since then (and that has been many due to the incessant issues we've been experiencing) have told us that the home was a terrible flip and pretty much all work done by the flipper's contractor was done shoddily or incorrectly altogether. We now recommend to all our loved ones not to buy a home.

We had Christian Strnad as our inspector and he was awesome! He was very thorough and very nice. He went over all items on the re-inspection with us in person and offered lots of insight on the house we were buying. Really appreciated his honesty in opinions and his thoroughness in our inspection. He put our mind at ease!

Iron Gate did a terrific job with the home inspection. There were a number of elements that needed to be coordinated. Iron Gate did a great job of bringing together knowledgeable contractors coordinated by the admin team and our home inspector, Andrew Stevens. We received a detailed report of the property that was very useful in our decision-making.I was pleased that the company provided one-stop-shopping for all of the inspection services that we needed.

It went very well and was an extensive inspection.

Both times they have been excellent in their work and communication. We have emailed Christian with concerns about a buyer's inspection ( not Iron Gate), and he was very honest and helpful. I definitely get the feeling that he takes a lot of pride in his work, and has no vested interests. Christian and Craig were both very professional and friendly. Their explanations during the inspection were very easy to understand, and nothing seemed pretentious or hurried.

Inspection was scheduled for 1PM. Christian showed up a few hours early, never bothered to tell me that until I arrived at 1. When I showed up, most of his inspection was done - I was not offered the opportunity to accompany him during the inspection nor did he show me the actual issues noted during his inspection. He did discuss with me some of the issues he found, but that took place in the kitchen during a very brief conversation. When I received the actual report, there were several other issues noted in the report that he never discussed with me and that I would have preferred to see directly so that I could assess the seriousness of the problems - particularly a big mess in the crawl spaces, but many other issues as well. Christian seemed to be in a big hurry to get done, and in hindsight I believe he was not overly concerned with me fully understanding issues with the house and was more concerned with getting on to his next job. Overall, Christian found and documented most issues with the house, but after moving in, it was apparent that there were issues not addressed in the inspection, including 2 burst exterior sillcock valves, sump pump runs nearly continuously and was inadequately plumbed causing significant gurgling noise that can be heard throughout the house. I paid for a septic inspection, but he never opened the septic lid because he could not find - a call to the seller or their agent would have quickly pointed out the location. Overall, very disappointed. My biggest mistake was using an inspector recommended by my real estate agent.

Our house was more expensive to look at because of the size. Therefore, don't use our price for a typical house. Our inspector, Christian was awesome. He took his time to look at everything and then discussed some of the bigger issues with us in person when he was done. The report he provided us was thorough, well explained and included pictures. At one point we saw him jumping from dormer to dormer on our roof to check all the chimneys, shingles, and flashing. I would highly recommend him!

Christian did a great job! He was prompt, professional, detailed and thorough. Iron Gate were highly recommended to me by a friend who had used their services before and we were not disappointed. He arrived early, had all the right equipment, knew what to look for, went absolutely everywhere (attic, crawl space, roof, everywhere!) and was happy to explain everything and answer all our questions. Overall, an excellent experience in every way.

This is the third time I've used Christian for a home inspection. Great guy -- friendly, honest and straightforward. He is very professional and does a thorough and useful inspection of properties. I would not purchase a home in the Indy metro area without having Christian do an inspection beforehand!

It went great. Christian was there early. He had all the equipment to check all the plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roof, windows, etc. He was very detailed and showed me what he found, the good, bad and ugly. He took plenty of pictures. He was in the attic, everywhere. He was great! Explained everthing to me, price was fair. He did his report and pics on the spot so before he left he had sent it to me and my realtor.

Christian and his trainee performed a comprehensive home inspection (plus termite and radon inspections) before my husband and I purchased our first house. The inspectors were very punctual and professional, and the inspection and report were both thorough and complete. Christian is a no-nonsense, down-to-earth guy, and he spent a lot of time explaining his findings and answering our questions. When we found a small error on the report (which was prepared and sent to us within 24 hours of the inspection appointment), he corrected the file promptly so we could forward it to our Realtor and lender with accurate information. While the inspection did not include looking inside walls or under floor coverings (which would have required cutting drywall and carpet), Christian did point out some potential issues that he suspected were covered by the previous owner's handiwork in the basement. As it turned out, Christian was correct (the previous owner had enclosed the sewer clean-out inside a finished wall and covered the basement floor drains with carpet), and although my husband and I were not thrilled about the extra expense of fixing those items, we were at least prepared because of our rigorous home inspection.
We would definitely recommend Iron Gate Inspection Services, and we'll likely use them again should we purchase another house any time soon.

This is the second inspection that Christian has completed for us. He is very thorough and provides a great service. His attention to detail when completing the whole home inspection is clear and will give any home buyer the knowledge to make the right decisions when purchasing a home. We will definitely use Irongate in the future.

Arrived early, gave full attention to our questions and continued to help us find a solution to getting a complete inspection.

Christian did a very thorough job. This is my third home purchase in the last 13 years and thankfully I've never had a bad inspector.
I was early and have no idea how long he had been there but most of the interior of the house had already been inspected by the time I arrived. He spent an hour and a half inspecting while I was there. This was a pretty straightforward ranch home built in 1986 with 1542 sq ft.
Christian was on the roof, under the deck, opening and documenting everything he could find. He was knowledgeable, answered my questions (and those of my mother). I alerted him to the areas that I had concerns about prior to the inspection so he would take extra care with those (and he did).
He is not an alarmist but will tell you the things that need to be fixed immediately, those that need some attention, and those that need to be watched and or adequately maintained in the future.
I would absolutely use him again and feel confident referring him to friends or family (or you).

Christian came out and promptly began work on our home inspection. He had all the tools he would need to perform a thorough inspection on his person, so that he could efficiently use our time together. He explained all of the issues the house had in detail, and left no stone unturned in the process. I was very happy with the work done and will use Iron Gate again should I purchase a new home.

Chris arrived early and had already begun the inspection - he was documenting and snapping pics for his report when I arrived. He explained his process and answered any questions that I had regarding his findings or my concerns. I expected to receive the report in two days or so; surprisingly, we received it within an hour of leaving the property! He was very professional and helpful during this process. We highly recommend his services.

Christian was early to the appointment. He had already inspected the exterior and roof by the time I had arrived, which was 10 minutes early. He was very professional and thorough in his assessment, which was done in a quick and efficient manner. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. The report he provided was done by the time we left, and I had it almost immediately.

He was very meticulous, honest and didn't leave a stone unturned. They were willing to make a return visit to make sure all items were to our satisfaction.
