At NuFlow Indy, our specialty is sewer line repair utilizing trenchless methods. We help our customers save time and money, typically over 20-50% vs dig solutions (which we also do). We proudly offer military and first responder discounts as well! Trenchless sewer pipe repairs allow us to restore drain lines and sewer pipes without having to tear up your residence or commercial building. Because of this, the process offers many benefits, including: *Repairs usually take only a couple of hours. *Less-intrusive techniques mean saving landscaping, flooring, and walls in homes & businesses. *Efficient services save our customers time and money. Trenchless repairs meet industry standards and local utility standards, which are permanent. Nu Flow Indy also has specialized equipment for: *High Definition Self Leveling Camera Inspections. *Cleaning 100% of the pipe, not just poking a hole so water flows for a few more weeks. * Fixing your problem with either Dig or No Dig solutions. We look forward to the opportunity to provide you with a free quote!

"After receiving an extremely high water bill I contacted a contractor that I knew to have him look into it. His analysis was that there was a leak in the main water line which is something he did not do. After doing some research regarding various companies that provide service in this area I chose Nu Flow Indy to investigate based on their expertise as shown on their website and prior customer reviews. Jason Long arrived to investigate and determined that the issue was in fact in the main water line. Jason explained exactly what the process would entail and gave me his personal cell number as point-of-contact. A quote was sent detailing the process and cost and I contacted Jason to proceed with the replacement. Though there were some unforeseen issues that were no fault of Jason or Nu Flow Indy Jason resolved the issues pushing through until the new main water line was installed, completing the install of the new main water line and hookup at 11:20PM on the 2nd day. Jason had a team come back to fill in the trench and a "dig site" leaving the area with as little impact as possible. I thank Jason, Adam, Brian, Rudy, Matt & Rico for their dedication/professionalism. Also I want to add that these gentlemen are Great people."

"Worst consultation and experience I have ever had as a home owner. I was referred to Pristine by a commercial company and told that they stand behind their customer service. They came out and there rep refused to offer me a check valve for my sewage drainage. I explained that my old one had one and I would like on on the new one. He told me I did not need it. Fast forward one year later. My basement floods twice in one month and they send out a rep. Their rep comes told me he has a camera but doesn't meed to use it. Says "I have seen what I need to see" with in 5 minutes of being there. Says he is aware that back ups are common on my side of town and immediately noticed I had a line right next to the sewage and rain water drainage right next to the city's main lines. That being said I asked the owner why I was refused one and why his reps gave contradicting consultations. I told him I was willing to pay for a check valve but why should I have to pay for excavation and my fence to be torn down again when I should have been walked through this scenario the first time ESPECIALLY after asking SPECIFICALLY for a check valve. He refused. Told me to leave my review. Not happy at all."

"Have a 100 year-old Meridian Kessler house with lots of trees. Have needed to have sewer line snaked every 3 to 4 years to clear tree roots. At end of March (2018) line backed up from basement floor drain. Called usual company to snake line. They responded and pulled out more roots than usual. They succeeded in opening the line but could not get past an offset in the old clay pipe. Two camera inspections revealed a long belly in line and an offset where the pipe had separated midway between the house and sidewalk. In addition to their bid, I obtained 4 others. Received quotes to just fix offset and also to replace the entire 65' line between house and sidewalk. Broad Ripple Sewer and Water had the lowest bid and did not try to upsell me. They understood my issue and were willing to work around the trees in my yard so as to not damage them. Several others insisted that a lovely magnolia would have to be removed for them to do the job. Broad Ripple Sewer and Water had also recently installed an outside cleanout for a neighbor and I had the opportunity to watch them and evaluate their work. I opted to replace the entire 65' line and have Broad Ripple Sewer and Water do the work. Once I accepted their bid, they set a date with me to perform the work, Utility locator services marked the location of buried gas, water, and electric line. The crew arrived on time at 8 AM with their equipment. As they started to dig they took care to protect the gas line which was quite close to where the new line would connect at the corner of the house. Jon is very skillful at operating the backhoe and efficiently dug a trench for the new sewer line. His crew installed schedule 40 6" PVC pipe on a bed of gravel. Because of proximity of sewer line to water line they had to disconnect water. Sewer was reconnected and inspected by 2PM. Water was reconnected shortly after and they filled in the trench before leaving at 5PM. The next day they returned to snake the line from the cleanout they installed by the sidewalk out to the middle of the street. They also smoothed out the piles of earth and roughly graded the front yard. They powerwashed my driveway and front walk and made the yard as presentable as possible. As part of their service they will return in 2-3 months after the dirt has had a chance to settle and regrade the yard where they dug so I can landscape. They also removed several evergreen bushes for me that I was planning to dig out. Very pleased with their service, the quality of the work, and the price."

FAQs for drain pipe installation projects in Indianapolis, IN

The regulations around whether drain pipe installers need to hold licenses or certifications differ based on where you live and the type of drain pipe installed. Municipalities have varying rules and regulations about who can and can’t perform plumbing work. However, we recommend hiring a certified plumber to install or modify your drain lines. Licensed plumbers will perform a high-quality, professional installation, which translates to a lower risk of clogs and leaks in the future. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm the license status of your potential plumber before hiring them to install your drain pipe.

The cost to install a drain pipe is $600 on average, but the total can range between $150 and $2,000. Some cost factors that influence your project price include the type of drain, the area’s accessibility, the proximity of existing drain lines, and whether you’re installing a new drain or replacing an old one. Replacing the p-trap or s-trap under a single fixture will usually cost around $150, while replacing a main drain pipe can cost well over $2,000.

Plumbers will typically take one to two hours to install a new drain pipe, but that timeline can vary based on the area’s accessibility, the drain length, and the type of drain line. Replacing an easily accessible p-trap under a sink could take as little as a half an hour, while replacing a larger section of drain line behind the wall could take as long as three to four hours. When hiring a plumber for your specific installation, ask them to provide an estimated timeline to get a more accurate assessment.

You might need a permit to modify or repair any portion of your plumbing system, including drainage lines, depending on where you live. In some areas, simple replacements of existing drain lines don’t require a permit. We recommend asking your drain pipe installer or your local building department about permitting requirements. In many cases, only certified plumbers can pull plumbing permits, so you’ll usually need to leave the permit application to your professional. The fee for the permit will be passed to you on your project bill, though.

We highly recommend leaving the work of replacing drain pipes to a professional plumber. Drain pipes are a key part of your plumbing system, and making mistakes during the installation or even using the wrong size pipes for your specific fixture can lead to an elevated risk of leaks and clogs. Additionally, drain pipes prevent harmful sewer gas from entering your home, so hiring a professional plumber is essential to keeping the risk of leaks and clogs low and avoid reducing your indoor air quality.
