"I worked with James and he was fantastic to work with. We submitted my claim to insurance company and they denied it but James knew what to do next. We submitted and appraisal and my roof was covered. James is super nice and helpful. He would answer all my questions even if at crazy times of the day. My roof looks great with Owens Corning dimension shingles which James helped me pick out. I would high recommend them for your roofing needs."

"This company is amazing! We needed to have our roof evaluated for repairs and they were quick to respond, made some minor repairs at no cost, and sent a summary assessment. They even met our tight deadlines! I would recommend this company to anyone and I will definitely call them in the future for any roofing needs. Wonderful to work with!"

"We are very pleased with the results. We had problems with animals getting into the attic through a space between the gutter boards and the roof. Apex replaced the gutter boards closing up the entry space. They then put up new seamless gutters. This completely solved our problem. They also repaired a fracture in the vinyl siding on our front porch, putting up new siding on the entire porch to ensure that there was no noticeable difference due to aging - looks great. This is the second time I've used Apex. Recommended."

"Perfection metal roofing replaced my old and damaged roof with a brand new metal roof that looks fantastic and functions great. Their customer service was excellent and the price they gave me was less than half of what comparable contractors were quoting me!"

"Excellent! Very professional. Large crew...in and out in 1 day. They have done at least 3 other roof jobs in my neighborhood and came highly recommended. I can see why. Great price, great guarantee, quick, efficient, great clean-up. My only advice to anyone with tender plants or bushes like hydrangeas or azaleas that have branches that might easily break off is to warn them ahead of time to cover with "extra care" if these are in the way, or you might figure a way to cover them yourself. All in all, though, they did a great job of protecting my plants and bushes."

"After a recent storm, I had a significant amount of roof damage that filled my front yard with shingles. I called three companies: two were so called "restoration" companies, one was Jeremy with Element Roofing. I expressed my concern about potential future damage due to the decking being exposed, and while the other companies didn't address the problem, only offering to do a repair, Element Roofing listened to my concerns, came out and tarped the roof the very next day. One company quoted an $800 repair, but Element Roofing explained why a repair was not appropriate, and would not solve the problem due to the age of the roof, due to darkening, due to the irreparability. Jeremy explained that repairing and attaching new shingles to old, brittle shingles would not work, as the old shingle's broken seal (around the repaired area) would not prevent future water penetration. I also didn't want a patch job. The new shingles would look different than the old shingles. We filed a claim and Jeremy met the insurance adjuster on the roof. The roof was actually DENIED by insurance, but Jeremy utilized his insurance expertise to call for a reevaluation of the insurance claim. I trusted him and stuck with the process. And after reevaluation, a complete new roof was approved by insurance! In preparation for the roof, Jeremy sent me a pre-start checklist, which I really appreciated, as this really helped me prepare for the roofing project, especially the fact that he had me take down wall decorations and photos due to potential vibrations during the roofing project. The workers worked very hard, and the work was completed in a timely manner. The property was clean when they finished. Jeremy kept me updated through the entire process. I love how wonderful the new roof looks! The customer service was above and beyond what I experienced from any other company; it was EXCEPTIONAL! I highly recommend Element Roofing for any roofing needs, especially if insurance is involved. I'm glad I trusted Element Roofing's insurance claim process that resulted in a complete roof replacement."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Your chimney needs a structurally sound chimney cap, protective lining, damper, chimney flashing, and brick and mortar to prevent water from goind down your chimney. A pro can help you identify where the issue is so that you can stop water from coming down the smoke shaft, through your damper, and into your home.

There’s no single best roofing material for flat roofs, but EPDM is considered an excellent option because it lasts longer than TPO roofing and built-up roofing, and it’s the most adaptive to extreme temperatures and variations in temperature. EPDM can also be highly energy-efficient at both ends of the climate spectrum, with black EPDM helping to reduce heating bills and white EPDM helping to keep your building cool in extreme summer temperatures.

During the framing process, builders connect the roof to the walls with materials, including metal connectors, plywood panels, and wood blocks. These roof-to-wall connections are important and provide weatherproofing, noise and temperature insulation, protection against pests, and home integrity. The type of connector and method used will vary, depending on your home’s construction and needs, and each has pros and cons in terms of cost, noise insulation, longevity, and reliability. Talk with your home or roofing contractor about the best connectors for your roof and walls, and what they recommend for your home.

Flapping shingles, or shingles that are lifting or curling away from your roof, can be glued back into place using roofing cement or sealant. Apply the glue underneath the shingle, then press it down firmly. You can leave a brick on top of the shingle to hold it in place overnight while the sealant dries.

Hip roofs tend to cost a bit more than other common styles of roofs. Because of the complex labor needs required to build a hip roof properly, you can expect to spend more on labor if you choose to go with a hip roof over a less complicated roof style.
