"Ralph and Joseph install a 39.4 diameter crystal chandelier 55 pounds on a 13 foot ceiling. Also install dimmer and light switch. Work very meticulously and with a sense of humor to complete the job. Change out the ground wire to ensure safety. Definitely would hire again."

"Great experience! I contacted EMF via Angie's List because of their excellent reviews. The original purpose was to install 2 ceiling fans and at a later date convert 4 existing recessed lights to LED. We have a large finished basement but it had terrible dim lighting. I thought ceiling fans with lights would be an efficient and inexpensive way to add more light to the area. The owner, Steve Durkiewicz, originally gave me a very fair online quote for the fan installation based on the fact that I told him the correct electrical already existed where they were to be put up. Steve arrived and I found out the areas did not have correct ceiling fan boxes and it would necessitate installing them plus re-drywalling and painting after. Steve said if that was what I wanted, he would be happy to do it, but also suggested that if the only reason I wanted fans was for the lighting, that I might want to consider 2 lighting fixtures instead. And then gave me a great resource in my area to view options. I agreed and we re-scheduled at no cost for his having come over. I found 2 fantastic 4-bulb LED fixtures that Steve installed at our next appointment along with 4 conversion recessed light kits I decided to have him purchase and do at the same time. Everything went extremely well and was very reasonably priced. And, at last, I have light in my basement office!"

"On November 15th Chicago was hit with some extreme wind gusts that caused my water heater pilot light to extinguish. I thought this was a simple reset, but the problem was more complicated. I learned the electrode was defective. Had I undertaken this project as a DIY, I would have spent more time than I would have cared to try to figure out why I could not get a flame for my water heater. I was smart to call Four Seasons. My technician figured out the problem quickly. There are times when calling a professional makes sense. I am not an expert on water heaters outside of knowing how to turn it on, clean it periodically, and knowing when I need a new one. Thank you Four Seasons for responding quickly and bringing me hot water."

"Gary installed recessed wafer lights and two new outlets in our living room, and new ceiling fans and switches in two bedrooms that had no prior electric/lighting. All work was completed in timely fashion and to high quality standards. Gary was very professional and kind. My favorite part of working with Gary was his excellent communication. He got back to us when others didn't. He made every necessary phone call to confirm planning and materials were just the way we wanted. He also happily adjusted his schedule to complete additional work for us and offered a gift on completion of work for our soon to be born son. If you're looking for a great local electrician, give Gary at SSE Electric a call."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Under-cabinet lights are typically affixed to mounts that are drilled into the cabinet using screws. Cable staples are used to secure the cords in place. Alternatively, tape lights can be attached directly to the underside of the cabinet using adhesive. These installation methods provide secure and versatile—and potentially removable—options for illuminating your kitchen space.

Recessed lights, as with any kind of light, can be a fire hazard if not installed correctly. Because of this, it’s best to have a professional complete the installation for you. Properly installed lights should not pose a threat and often have heat sensors installed in them that turn the light off if the temperature gets too high.

In this category, homeowners provide materials. Some installers may offer advice on suitable options.

Recessed lighting comes in hundreds of designs. Modern LED recessed lights have a longer lifespan than traditional incandescent bulbs. You can get integrated wafer canless bulbs that fit flush into the ceiling, even under a joist. In the can vs. canless recessed lighting discussion, both have their merits depending on your budget and ceiling space.

For every foot of ceiling height, your chandelier should have two to three inches of height. To calculate the width of the ideal chandelier, determine the width and length of the room.

Add these two numbers together and that is the number of inches wide your chandelier should be. For example, if your room is 15 feet wide and 15 feet tall, you will need a chandelier that is 30 inches wide.
