"I've used Randy for three projects over the last 5 years and I've been happy with his work throughout. He's put in recessed lighting in our kitchen and he did it beautifully and the dry wall repairs he did were perfect. We've also had him install some new outlets in our basement and most recently installed an outlet, lights and doorbell when we had another contractor redo our outside porch. Easy to work with and good at communicating. HIghly recommmend."

"On November 15th Chicago was hit with some extreme wind gusts that caused my water heater pilot light to extinguish. I thought this was a simple reset, but the problem was more complicated. I learned the electrode was defective. Had I undertaken this project as a DIY, I would have spent more time than I would have cared to try to figure out why I could not get a flame for my water heater. I was smart to call Four Seasons. My technician figured out the problem quickly. There are times when calling a professional makes sense. I am not an expert on water heaters outside of knowing how to turn it on, clean it periodically, and knowing when I need a new one. Thank you Four Seasons for responding quickly and bringing me hot water."

"The crew was very professional and got the work done quickly. I had some existing light switches that needed to be incorporated with the installation of the fans. They were able to recommend a combo controller switch that has worked out great. Very reasonable pricing, other quotes I received were more than double."

"Ben replaced almost every ceiling light, light fixture, and ceiling fan in our home. He did a huge foyer chandelier to a small sconce. He even figured out how to rewire a broken outdoor post light so that we didn’t need to get a new one. He is professional, friendly, competitively priced, and extremely competent. Hire him for everything!"

"Installed ceiling fan as part of deal and added another light fixture at my request. I was particularly impressed that they agreed to help on what would have been handyman additions -- removing a broken off light bulb, and helping me get to high light fixtures to change bulbs. Punctuality and rapid completion of the installations were also impressive."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes! As a matter of fact, there are many sensors that add motion to existing outdoor lights. These motion sensors attach to pre-existing flood lights and other outdoor lights without any fussy and potentially dangerous electrical work. Additionally, some flood lights and related fixtures ship with motion sensors built-in.

Yes, a handyperson can install a new light fixture in place of an existing fixture. A handyperson typically cannot complete significant electrical work or change a home's wiring. If you want to install a light fixture in a new location, consult a properly licensed and insured electrician according to your local regulations.

Yes, you should have an outlet box if you plan on installing an outdoor fixture. You can install an additional outlet box at the same time you complete your fixture installation, though. Not only does this outlet work with outdoor light fixtures, but it comes in handy for other outdoor fixtures, like holiday lights.

Depending on your preference, a 100W bulb could be too bright for a bedroom. Most people prefer softer, relaxing bedroom lighting using a lower wattage bulb, around 40W to 60W for incandescent or the equivalent in LED (around 450 to 800 lumens). For adjustable brightness, consider using dimmable bulbs or layered lighting with bedside lamps and overhead lights to create a comfortable and versatile lighting environment.

Recessed lights, as with any kind of light, can be a fire hazard if not installed correctly. Because of this, it’s best to have a professional complete the installation for you. Properly installed lights should not pose a threat and often have heat sensors installed in them that turn the light off if the temperature gets too high.
