"I had signed up for a Angie's list clean a drain special. Upon inspection the tech said that although they would preform the purchased service it would only fix the problem short term. He offered to give me my money back or against his recommendation do the job. However he also offered a more effective and expensive solution to my problem. I knew he was correct as I "Snaked" the drain a 2 months ago and the problem reappeared. My house is nearly 50 years old and this drain that we were having trouble was used exclusively the washing machine and had a build up of soap coated to the inside of the pipe. They preformed 3 jet high pressure cleaning of the pipe. It took 3 tries flush it completely. It is draining properly now.
