"Jacob kept us informed throughout the entire project about timelines etc. He removed the old fence and hauled it away for us. Jacob did a wonderful job and now we have a much nicer looking and strong secure fence. Very pleased!!"

"This company did an excellent job of staining our deck. They gave a very competitive price that we were pleased with. Their bid was actually half of other companies. Very friendly and attentive to our questions. When they were done they cleaned up and returned everything to its place where they had moved it from. We will definitely have them returning when we need their services again. They do about any type of handyman work. Welding, carpentry, painting, staining, etc."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Quincy, leaning fence posts, sagging panels, or gates that no longer latch smoothly often signal shifting soil or early structural problems. Watch for splintering wood, bubbling paint, or green algae growth, which can mean hidden moisture damage. Rust streaks on metal fences and cracked concrete footings are early warnings—addressing these promptly can prevent more extensive fence installation or replacement needs.

Helpful?

For Quincy’s changing weather, cedar and pressure-treated pine are excellent for wood fences, offering natural resistance to decay. Galvanized steel and aluminum are reliable for metal fencing, while vinyl-coated chain link holds up well against temperature swings. Composite and PVC materials are ideal for low-maintenance privacy fences. Use gravel under posts and fast-setting concrete to improve drainage, especially in clay-heavy yards.

Helpful?

Be wary of fencing contractors in Quincy who provide vague estimates, rush you to sign, or avoid discussing materials and installation details. Reliable pros will outline the full scope of work, specify materials, and address local soil or drainage challenges. Look for clear contracts, positive references, and willingness to coordinate utility checks. Poor communication or reluctance to answer questions are signs to consider other options.

Helpful?

Before starting a fence installation in Quincy, verify your property boundaries and review local zoning or HOA guidelines for height and style restrictions. Assess your yard’s soil and drainage to choose suitable materials. Schedule utility line marking well in advance and plan your project for late spring through early fall for best results. In historic or flood-prone neighborhoods, check for any additional local requirements.

Helpful?

Most fence installation projects in Quincy wrap up within two to five days, depending on the fence type and yard conditions. Privacy fences and wood installations usually take three to four days, while chain link fences can be finished in one to three days. Decorative or commercial fencing may extend to a week, especially if custom features or challenging terrain are involved, and weather can add extra time.
